Description of 1987 Alfa Romeo Milano

In true lemons spirit. we took the Top Gear commandments seriously and obeyed #3:THOU SHALT OWN AN ALFA ROMEOAccording to the Top Gear boys. to be a bona fide petrolhead at some point you have to own. or have owned an Alfa Romeo. Whether comparing them to Angelina Jolie (mad. but you still would) or waxing lyrical about their sleek bodywork. the boys have always had a soft-spot for these stylish little Italian beauties. You should too. We've decided to part ways with the cookie to become a one marque team. Anyone who's done a Lemons build knows how much time and money is involved- especially for newbies this is a great opportunity to try out racing for a very affordable cost. A great car with a great theme that turned in a very respectable 2:11. 9 at Sonoma a couple of weeks ago. Speaking of the theme. the car has quite a following and is in consistent demand for shows / press. . . even the makers of the Milano cookie. Pepperidge farms reached out. It's also done a bunch of other non-racing events including the Bernal GT and NASCAR. The car itself is a 1987 Alfa Milano (75 in the rest of the world). I'm not sure of the miles (we can check) but I think it's in the 150k ish range. The car has a top-of-the-line EGR Cage that's bang up to spec for Lemons. Chump and other racing. along with all the safety gear you need in the car. The seat is Lemons approved and on rails to suit drivers of all heights (which is the reason we got the Alfa in the first place). We've recently rebuilt the entire driveline. replacing and rebuilding all the rubber guibos. The motor is the 2. 5 v6 (156hp new) with a manual transmission (transaxle actually. for better weight distribution). We've rebuilt the rear brakes. swapped to racing brake fluid and added rear brake ducts which have improved the braking considerably. We've also replaced a half shaft and removed the Air con to save weight. Replacement radiator is from a 3. 0 and new timing belt has been fitted. The car is fully street legal. titled and smogged last August. You can literally drive it away (we drove it to and from Sonoma a couple of weekends ago). It even has it's original CA blue plates. You'll obviously need to smog it to register it in your name in CA. You can drive it to the next event instead of having to trailer it. park it on the streets and take your family/friends out for joyrides. The Milano has a clean and clear CA title. no tickets or other DMV fees. With a pre-race service. this car is ready to race and pass tech. It comes with one new tire. the rest have some life in them but you should factor in buying the rest of a new set. From memory they're Falken Azenis. In addition to Lemons. this is fully ready to race CHUMP or any other track day (the cookie is bolted to the roof and fully removable). The camaraderie amongst the Alfa racers is second-to-none. the parts and knowledge sharing is amazing. It's probably the thing we'll miss most (Will you still talk to us? We like you a lot!). In addition to the car. it comes with:-- Spare motor-- Spare wheels-- Spare shift linkage-- Spare radiator-- Anything else Alfa-y we have in the garage!We'll even supply the illustrator files so you can update the Milano branding with your team name if you wish.
