This is an all original One owner Alfa Romeo 2000 touring spider, known to Alfisti as the “cast iron block two-liter,” it was introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1957 in Saloon form as the successor to the outgoing 1900. The 2000 entered production for the 1958 model year offered as either a “Berlina” sedan or the Touring-bodied Spider as offered here. A Coupe version became available in 1960.
The Spider, produced from 1958 to 1961, was Alfa Romeo’s flagship open touring car, offering a more luxurious and refined package than the smaller 1,300-cc Giulietta Spider. The 2000 was a true open GT car, capable of a comfortable 100+mph long-distance cruising speed.
