1972 1973 1974 1975 Alfa romeo classic series II convertible restoration driver

Offered for sale is a 1974 Alfa Romeo Series II 2000 Spider Iniezione Convertible, complete with her original 2000cc 4-cylinder engine with SPICA Fuel Injection paired toa 5-speed manual transmission. Chassis number AR*3042503. The car was acquired through an Alfa restoration specialty center where it was stored for about 8 years, and has recently been put back into service during the last year. Brand new convertible top and complete engine tune-up to include new fuel pump, fresh fuel filters, new battery, new plugs and new plug wires. Dealer installed AC recently charged and in working order. Straight body and driver-quality “Rosso Alfa Red” exterior paint pairs well with recent recovered Grey cloth and black leather accented seats. This is a driver-quality example that a new owner can improve on as he or she enjoys driving the car.

∙ Original 2000cc Inline 4-cylinder with SPICA Fuel Injection rated at 130bhp@5500RPM and134ft. lbs@4400RPM.Runs great, clean start and no smoke.

∙ Original 5-speed Manual gearbox with excellent clutch feel and smooth synchro's, no grinding

∙ Suspension is solid, vehicle tracks straight and has responsive steering

∙ Brake system maintenance to include all caliper rebuilds, new pads and a new master cylinder. Brakes well and stops straight.

∙ OEM Alfa Campagnolo 14” wheels in good condition wrapped in Brand New Hankook Kinergy 185/70R14Tires, have less than 200mi.

Body:

∙ Bod, frame, floors, rockers and doors are in overall good condition, straight metal with few and only minor dents / dings and rust area's to include trunk floor (some rust through, will require repair), leading edge of the hood (bubbling) and minor bubbling near rockers Floors are solid; see pics and video

∙ Exterior chrome trim, grill, bumpers, headlight bezels and windshield trim is in good driver-quality condition. Front passenger side molding trim piece is missing; see pics.

∙ Originally “Prototipo Yellow”, now “Rosso Red” and in driver-quality condition. Presents well,nice 10ft paint. Has some minor abrasions and some chipping at lower rear valance; see pics.

∙ Brand new and professionally installed vinyl convertible top and rear plastic screen. Operates flawlessly opening and closing. No leaks.

∙ Windshield and door glass all in driver-quality condition, no breaks or chips. Driver side door window does not fully lower

∙ Headlights, tail lights, reverse and signals all operational

Interior:

∙ Newer Grey Cloth and Black Leather trimmed seating surfaces recovered during prior ownership /restoration process are in excellent condition

∙ Carpet appears to be original and in good driver-quality condition with no rips, tears or stains. Interior door panels were replaced with new reproductions from Centerline Alfa in 2021.

∙ Dash Lights, Instrument Gauges, Radio and AC/Heater are all functional. Wood-trimmed steering wheel is original to the car and in very good condition. Dash has 1 crack near upper / windshield area; see pics

∙ Horn and Wipers are fully functional

Overall, a nice running and driving 74' Alfa Romeo Spider that can be driven while continuing to restore. Solid little Iniezione Convertible roadster that gets lots of attention, has had a lot of the hard work completed and has loads of life left to enjoy.
