Description of 1965 AMC American 330

Ihave owned this Rambler for almost ten years. I bought it from the original owner's grandson. I even have the original keys and license plates for the car. All I have done is change the wheels, tires, kept up with maintenance, and added an exterior mirror.
It has the original 195.6ci inline, OHV 6-cylinder, with its original Borg Warner T35 overdrive automatic. Both are reliable and are smooth running. I just completed a tune-up which included new points, condenser, rotor, distributor cap, plug wires, and an Accel coil. The radiator has a small leak, but it has not affected performance (I have a new aluminum radiator that goes with the car...just haven't gotten around to replacing the old one.). The fuel gauge does not work, but I have an NOS sending unit that goes with the car.
This car has also had a recent brake job including new drums, shoes, and wheel cylinders. However, the parking brake cable has frozen up. It could be only in need of lubrication, but it might need replaced. They are still readily available.
The car was last painted in 1989. The paint job was quite amateurish, but has held up extremely well over the years. The interior is in excellent shape...but the headliner does sag a bit. Doors line up perfectly, all seals are good, glass is excellent, heater works great, all the stainless trim and chrome bits are there and are in good shape.
The Coker wide whites and powdercoated steel wheels are in excellent condition and have less than 1000 miles on them.
This car has an excellent history, a wonderful story, and has been great for us and to us. I have included pictures spanning 10 years so that you can see how well I have tried to keep it up. We are only selling her to have room in the garage for our new tractor. Ironically, this is the same reason that the original owner's grandson sold her to me. This Rambler has been garaged all of her life...I would hope that to continue with the next owner.
