Description of 1970 AMC Other AMX/3

For sale is an ultra rare hand built Italian AMC/3. There are only 4 actual original cars existing. and this one was the 4th prototype built. AMC commissioned Bizarini in the late '60s to build a mid engined super car that was to be tested and then sent to the US to be copied and put into production. The first three cars were tested extensively at Monza. and then this car was built to be sent to the Turin auto show and then sent to Detroit to be stripped and copied. It went to the show. and was ready to be shipped to AMC. Before that could happen the new 5mph bumper laws came into effect. plus some other problems for AMC. and they decided to not produce these cars. All 4 were sold into private hands. Being the 4th car. all of the modifications that the designers wanted were included in this last car. and it has some significant differences from the first three test cars. This car was shipped to Indianapolis and driven 1000 miles before being put into storage. It was recently pulled out of storage and a full rebuild was started. including stripping all of the paint back to bare metal. The owner has now had a change of heart and has decided to sell this car in the condition it is in presently. It is complete. ALL parts are with the car. The pic of the car on stands in bare metal is a current pic. AMX/3 #4 is STILL owned by the original owner. He has ALL the paperwork and historic details in his possession still. which certainly makes the car more collectible. and very authentic. This car is ready for it's 2nd owner to restore it back into the Italian beauty that it once was. Please do your research on this. but note that any info of these four cars on the web is very distorted over time. One car was recently sold as this chassis number. but we have all the original documentation to prove which car this one really is. That car sold for over $750. 00 and was one of the three test cars. this one is unique in many ways. and with a $50k full rebuild. would be in a class all by itself.
