Description of 1969 AMC AMX

One look at this 1969 AMC AMX, and you can tell it was owned by an enthusiast. It has a sinisterly dark appearance, loaded A/C interior, and a year-correct big 390 V8 under the hood. So while any AMC product will standout at the car show, this amazing and affordable coupe is a pure stunner, too.
A nice black paintjob is always an attention-grabber, and nothing helps it look sportier than racing stripes that run from the grille all the way to the taillight. The AMX was an individual sports car on a shortened Javelin platform, and the rare bespoke bodywork from the A-pillar back is very straight. The fastback looks like a coiled spring, and the wide rear end is unmistakable for anything else on the road you might even have to teach a few what an AMX is! Chrome bumpers are in excellent condition, the AMX emblems on the sail panels are crisply rendered, and the Magnum 500 wheels are a '60s muscle car must-have. So be glad the AMX came with a big trunk, because this one looks like it's ready to take home some awards.
As an original AMX, there's only room for two people, but they get plenty of space and comfort. Bucket seats, crisp door panels, and plush carpeting w/ AMX badging make it a nice place to spend some time. The correct charcoal-colored interior coordinates nicely with the exterior, while offering a hint of sophistication over the black. Plus, this shade is a nice complement to the wood paneling on the doors, dash, and center console. You get a great chrome and wood three-spoke sports steering wheel that still utilizes the American Motors logo in the center. Behind that, the instruments housed in deep individual pods that give the speedo and tach a hint of European sophistication. And while you'll love how everything looks correct, right down to the AM/FM radio, there's one upgrades that's a great addition. The ice-cold R134a air conditioning makes this one a terrific cruiser all year long.
When you pop the hood, you see AMC's big 390 cubic-inch V8. It very well may be the car's original power plant, but all we can tell definitively is that it's year-correct. As a true X-code car, it's great to see the largest available AMX motor and four-barrel carburetor still under the hood. And because the block is 1969-correct, you have the potential for some valuable originality. And you can see from the condition of the belts, wires, and hoses that this big V8 has received the proper maintenance throughout its lifetime. The four-barrel carburetor lets this AMX inhale deeply, and it exhales with authority out of the dual exhaust. And while this is a great muscle car, you'll also enjoy nice anytime driving features such as the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes.
AMC only produced around 8,300 AMXs in 1969, and how many do you think survived to look this good? When something so unique and powerful is also so affordable, you know you need to hurry on this deal. Call today!!!
