Description of 1970 AMC AMX Go Package

One look at this 1970 AMC AMX, and you can tell it was restored by an enthusiast. It has a slick appearance, ultra-desirable Go Package, and it's original 360 V8 under the hood. So while any AMC product will standout at the car show, this amazing and affordable coupe is a pure stunner, too. This was the final year for the AMX as a separate model on its sporty short wheelbase. And of the short three-year production run, 1970 has its own distinct style. So you're already looking at quite a desirable machine for its history, and that's even before you dig into the details. This car was actually hidden away for nearly half its life, sitting in a barn for 23 years. It was resurrected in 2006, and because there was plenty of paperwork to go with it, a thorough and correct restoration began. The Commodore Blue Metallic paint has a great level of luster from the modern clearcoat. Plus, the unique rear end treatment of the shorter wheelbase is highlighted further by the C-channel stripe that runs up the fastback profile. And you'll love the details, too, with bright chrome bumpers, crisp AMX emblems on the sail panels, and Magnum 500 wheels with American Motors center caps. The appealing blue continues on the inside to give this whole coupe the appeal of a deep blue ocean. Most AMXs are known to be two-person sports cars, so you'll want to pay special attention to those seats. Because if you fold up the armrest, you'll discover that in-between those individual buckets is a rare middle seat. This AMX has a nice air of '70s-style sophistication with plenty of wood paneling on the doors, dash, and steering wheel. Plus, the instruments are housed in deep individual pods that give the large speedo and tach a hint of European sophistication. And we know you'll love how everything looks correct, right down to the floor shifter and AM radio that's still on display. Even the space-saver tire in the trunk is correct! When you pop the hood, you'll see AMC's big 360 cubic-inch V8. According to the consignor, this is the original motor, and you can tell they took their time during restoration to really make it look terrific. That's why the paint is so bold, you have all the correct decals, and even the American Motors washer fluid bag is present. And yes, this is a true Go Package machine with the scoops in the hood force-feeding the special air intake that seals to the hood. And more than just authenticity, according to the consignor, this V8 was rebuilt in 2010 and includes ported & polished heads, roller rockers, and a mild camshaft. It has only gone about 3,000 miles since then, so you have an ideal mix of power and freshness. The large Edelbrock 600 CFM four-barrel carburetor lets this AMX inhale deeply, and it exhales with authority out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. And you have complete control over this powerful V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the Borg Warner T10 four-speed manual. Plus, wide Bf Goodrich T/As and front disc brakes keep this muscular AMC under your control. This is quite a rare machine (possibly less than 1,000 optioned like this.) So it comes with terrific paperwork like the original warranty card, owner's manual, reproduction window sticker, and restoration photos. So when you get this much power, rarity, and investment all offered for such a nice price, you know you need to hurry on this deal. Call today!!!
