Up for auction is a 1987 Audi 4000 CS Quattro with the 5-cyl 2.2L engine and 5-speed manual, with approximately 147,xxx miles and clean title. The car runs extremely rough. I am not a mechanic, but have been told it needs an engine. Is this one rebuild-able? I don't think so. The transmission shifts well, with the clutch at about half life. The 4-wheel drive works, and has 3 separate settings! The interior is near mint - no sagging headliner, seats are clean, glass is not chipped, even the carpet is decent. The windows and sunroof operate properly. The radio is aftermarket, and works. Heat and rear defrost work, a/c does not work.The box on the back seat is a parts kit from Blauparts for a timing belt job (new thermostat and water pump included), and goes with the car. Completely new: linkage in back, new springs, shocks, struts, pads, rotors, tires and rims, catalytic converter,battery, plugs and wires. An extra set of Ronal rims and 8 new oil filters go with the car. The Bad: there is rust on every panel of the car.
