The "Bugeye" has been garage and barn stored for the last 33 years. License plate shows it was last on the road in 1982. It had undergone several repaints over the years. Very solid example ready for restoration.

Under the hood the "Bugeye" is pretty much all original down to the original air filters. Engine number confirms it has the correct 948cc engine. I did put a battery in it, nd the engine turns over easily by bypassing the starter solenoid. Starter worked fine. Driver's side hood prop doesn't always latch. Rusted spot near vin plate. Inner fenders in good condition with no evidence of previous accident damage. Driver's hood hinge is a bit stiff and needs to be pushed down when the hood is closed. Goes into all of the gears without any issues. I did not go any further than that.

The interior is mostly original and needs a full restoration. Has some period "Wood Upgrades" including the steering wheel and shift knob. Dash is all original and not cut up and includes the correct original Ignition Switch/Headlight Switch. Headlights and tail lights work when I put a battery in it. Has original 60's AM radio. Pedal box will need to be gone through. There is a good sized hole in the passenger side kick panel due to some sort of nesting in the engine compartment as shown in the picture. Floor carpet was removed at some point. Has original seats however there is only 1 seat bottom (Bare metal) that is in fair condition. The seat backs are in good condition. Has all of the original gauges as well. Odometer shows 66,518 miles believed to be original.

The Body is in solid condition but will need to be restored. Both rocker panels are very solid. Has original floors. Driver's side floor pan under the pedal area has a decent sized hole. The rest of the floors are solid. Windshield has a small crack on the passenger side lower corner. Passenger side lower door hinge mount area is rusted out as shown from the exterior side behind the right front wheel. Grill and nose panel is in good condition. Trunk shows a fair amount of bondo that has cracked as shown in the trunk picture. All of the wheel wells are in good condition with no holes. Rear wheel arches in good original condition.

Original factory wheels and hubcaps with old Bias Ply tires. Tires are matched set with good tread.

The Austin is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied. I cannot be held responsible for any errors or inaccuracies that may have been inadvertently been provided.
