Description of 1966 Austin Healey 3000 3000 BJ8

You are bidding on a 1966 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 MKIII with overdrive, inished in its original factory colors; green with complimentary black interior & top.

This Healey has under gone a complete frame up restoration by the well known Canadian Healey expert Mike Salter of Precision Sports Cars in Markham, ntario, Canada.

The restoration took over 3 years to complete and was based on a totally original car that came out of Southern Florida in the early 90’s. The completion of the restoration was done in 2003, he car was driven to many Healey club events until 2008 when at this time it was stored in a dry & heated garage by the previous owner. The Healey remained in storage due to owner health problems. In the 5 years that the car was sparingly used it had travelled only 2000 miles hence the superb and fresh condition of the undercarriage, ody, aint work & interior (not even a stone chip or gravel rash in the fender wells).

The car runs strong and fast, hifts up & down through all gear effortlessly and is a pleasure to drive…. This Healey could be driven anywhere with great confidence in safety and reliability.

The only flaw in the entire aesthetics of the car is a small paint blemish about 2” in diameter in the lower bottom corner of the passenger side fender just forward of the door. I have tried to take a picture of it to the best I can, ut it is hard to see even when looking at the car in person. (most people don’t even notice it)

I am reluctantly selling this Healey (as I just did my Lotus Europa) given my age & desire to reduce my car collection & to focus on just a handful of my long term favorites.

My opening auction price is less than the cost of the restoration dating back to the early 2000’s, n Austin Healey today could not be restored to this caliber at the opening bid price.

I have tried to take pictures of all aspects of the car including the underside however, don’t have a hoist and took them by laying underneath. If you want specific pictures please feel free to ask. I will do my best to accommodate.

Given that I am located in Canada, ome US and offshore buyers maybe reluctant to bid given the border crossing and or importation paperwork required to import the vehicle to their home destination… I can assist with providing the buyer with contact information to an international transportation company (specializing in relocating vintage & classic cars worldwide) that will safely and at a reasonable cost transport the vehicle I have personally used this company several times and have been extremely pleased with the pick-up & delivery.
