The restoration is mostly complete only needing a capable British car enthusiast to wrap up the restoration. Truly an easy winter project that you could be driving in the Spring time. British Motor Heritage Certificate #2013/29211 is included in the sale. This certificate confirms that the Bugeye is a matching numbers vehicle manufactured on April 8th 1960. Original color: Iris Blue with a Blue interior and Black top. The Iris Blue color is considered by many to be one of the best colors for a British Car. Being offered at "Low Reserve". Perfect for the British car enthusiast looking for an easy winter project. NO Rust. Vin #: AN5L/36845Engine : 9C-U-H 36175Color: Iris Blue (rare color)Title: Clear "Virginia" TitleMileage: 9. 51 (believed to be 109K) I will be adding more pictures within the next few days. I purchased the Bugeye pretty much the way it is now at the insistence of my son who thought it would be the perfect father son project. Unfortunately with his work schedule and grad school classes. he really doesn't have the time to do the project and I don't have the skills or time to complete it myself. We came to the realization that it would be best to find a new home for the Bugeye. I will do my best to document what has been done so far based on the many receipts that came with the car. The body underwent a complete paint job/body restoration in 2013 with any rust cut out and new metal welded in. The entire car was taken apart prior to all of the body work. The quality of the work is excellent showing no evidence of filler that I can see. The "Iris Blue" paint finish is excellent as noted in the pictures. Engine compartment is painted body color as well. It appears that there was an error when drilling the rear deck hardware - see picture. Total cost was $7400. 00 which did not include some supplied repair panels. All of the floor pans are rust free including the trunk pan which is new. however the mounting studs for the gas tank did not line up correctly. The mounting holes for the tank will need to be enlarged to install correctly. It is partially installed now. Driver's door hinge has some play and needs to be lifted as the door is opened up. Has a couple of misc imperfections from storage/re-assembly. Grill is near perfect. I was told that the engine was freshened. and can confirm that everything under the valve cover is new. The engine has been painted and detailed. but unfortunately I was not able to get any specifics as to what was done. Transmission condition is unknown. Carbs have been disassembled and cleaned and need to be reassembled and installed. Has brand new tires & gas tank. Includes spare transmission. Some of the suspension components are new. The interior is partially completed with new carpets and a new metal dash covered with a correct dark blue material. Dynamat material was used on the floors for sound deadening and insulation purposes. Original steering wheel has some cracks. Needs interior panel kit and seat bottoms to finish interior. Needs seats installed. Cockpit trim was professionally polished as well as the windshield trim.
