COLORADO RED OVER BLACK WITH BLACK AMBLA TRIM, BLACK TOP. 60-SPOKE CHROME WIRE WHEELS. 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE. HEATER, ADJUSTABLE STEERING. LUCAS TRIPODS AND FOGLAMPS. NICE, OLDER GROUND-UP RESTORATION.Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this handsome and attractive late BJ-8 Convertible in excellent colors. This car was recently purchased from a seller in Northern California whose father cherished this car during their family's ownership. This car appears to have had a very nice, comprehensive, panels-off-the-chassis, ground-up restoration with some minimal miles since. The body on this car is very good to excellent. Paintwork is excellent with a few repairable blemishes/cracks on the hood, possibly from some underbonnet heat transfer. Panel fit is good all around. Chromework, rubber, glass all appear to be excellent. The doors open and shut well. Gapping is a little tight at the rear of the drivers door.Mechanically, the car is very good with a superb, smooth engine with normal oil pressure, no smoke or noises. The gearbox shifts well with a nice operating overdrive unit. The brakes, clutch, steering and suspension all feel normal. The exhaust system sounds very nice with the classic exhaust note. The car's undercarriage is correctly painted body color. It shows just minimal miles/use since the car's full restoration. Frame rails look nice and straight with no issues. The car's interior was completely renewed during the car's restoration with a new panel kit, correct Ambla front and rear seat kits, carpet kit, and correct nice-fitting Everflex softtop.A very nice car all around, this car is excellent value compared to the cost of a newly restored BJ-8. This late Grand Tourer is the most desirable and last year produced, and is considered the best and most developed of the bunch.
