Description of 1966 Austin Healey Sprite

1966 Austin Healey Sprite Convertible Speedster project. The car was painted in the last few years in Jaguar British racing green with white racing stripe and shows very well. The floor pans are solid and were sprayed with undercoating. The car has the original 4 bolt wheels with Pirelli tires. There is some small surface rust on edge of hood and rear passenger fender. It is very light surface rust and the rest of the car is rust free. The 1275 CC engine was worked on by a shadetree mechanic and he used some incorrect valve cover bolts, ut the past owner claims the engine had been gone through. The car comes with an upgraded Weber Downdraft Carb kit installed $529.99 in Mossmotors catalog (SKU 222-275). I will also include the original carbs which are in working condition $799.99 (370-708) Moss. The car needs a new shifter(the previous owner did not cover it well and water got into the shifter and in the transmission. As a result, he car needs a new shifter and the transmission will need to be rebuilt or swapped out. The condition of the brakes are unknown and the car currently has no exhaust. Full exhausts are available for $200 from Moss. I do have a very cool Monza Free Flow Muffler designed for 1275 Sprites and Midgets that increases horsepower and improves gas mileage. I will include it if the Buy It Now price is met. It retails for $199.99 (SKU 452-040 with Moss) The original windshield is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. These glass windscreens alone are worth about $500.
Interior: The interior was removed for paint, long with the lights, ll hardware to doors, ood, runk, tc. I can reattach headlights and tailights prior to auction ending. I have the seat frames to go with the car and original door panels. However, he previous owner was going to go with the vintage speedster look and not replace carpet. I would personally install a roll bar with some racing seats and not fool with replacing the vinyl panels, arpet, r original seats. All original instruments (some are very expensive) are included, ut the dash needs to be repainted with the wrinkle paint like from the factory. Dupli-Color black wrinkle spray paint from Auto Zone for $7.99 is what most people on the AH blogs use. The car comes with the original banjo steering wheel ($100-$200 based on condition) and I also have the original factory radio from BMC ($75), hat appears to be the original jack, ear bumper, nd all the hardware, ide windows, tc.
There is a whole Austin-Healey race class for these cars and vintage racing series. These cars are 50 years old and are getting rare. This car will be a lot of fun for the new owner and should be a great investment. There are no warranties, o please ask any questions. The car has a clear title, ut is being sold with a bill of sale only. The previous owner misplaced the title, ut did locate a photocopy of it that will also be provided with the bill of sale.
