Description of 1935 Austin 12/4 Low Loader Could be Hot Rod

Up for auction is a 1935 Austin 12/4 London Taxi Low Loader. This Taxi was built by theAustin London Taxicab Cop. The AustinLondon taxicab used a modified Austin Healy Twelve-Four chassis, Clothed with new Body designed byLondon's largest Taxicab retailer and dealer Mann & Overton of London Coachbuilder. This particular Taxi was used to transport patrons from the Oxford Hotel in Denver Colorado, back and forth to the train station. The body is original with great patina and has the Oxford Hotel in gold paint on the doors& trunk. Body only has a couple of very small dents other that that it is very sound. (Please look at pictures closely) The only rust at all is one spot in the trunk under the spare tire well about 6" round. The rest of the body has no rust other than where some paint has worn off on the top of the trunk, and that is just on the surface. The interior is excellent, as is the original wood, and all shows well for its age. (The interior could have been redone some time in the past.) The rear interiorcompartment has two jump seats anda rear lounge where you sit in comfort in it's blue upholstery, trimmed in real wood.(looks cool) That compartment'sconvertible bonnet folds down for niceweather and is ingood condition, but the rear windowhas darkened with age. (It's the original back window and is plastic.)A pass throughglass window opens between the front and rear compartments, also the windshield opens for fresh air.The front compartment is for the driver and it has it's working Bell Punch (London Model) Taximeter. (This Taxi drives on the right side.) The original4 cylinder engine has been replaced some time ago with a Buick Nail Head that runs strong and starts easy. It has the Buick automatic transmission coupled to the original rear end. The brakes are the originals but work well. Tires are new wide whites and it has a new battery. This Taxi would be great for the coolest Street Rod or Hot Rod ever. ( It would turn heads) You couldadvertising a business with it, use it forweddings, Graduations or what ever????? This LondonTaxi is mostly originaland is showingsome age, but it is in good condition for its age. (Remember it' a 1935 Austin!)
