Description of 1966 Austin Princess

1966 Austin Princess Limousine. Starts. runs. drives. I got this car to run in my livery business. but it has now been replaced with a Rolls Royce. It is a marvelous car. cavenous inside and classy. It does run. but could use some TLC to bring it up to par. The interior and body need virtually nothing. It has an automactic transmission that shifts well. It has been converted to an alternator system. It also has an afternarket air conditioning system that does work. and has a rear evaporator under the back seat that blows from two vents to the rear seats. With a little bit of love. you could have a great weekend car. or rent it out for weddings. In case you are not familiar with these cars. look up Austin Vanderplass. The car was designed in the late forties and had no chage to body style for 20 years of production. The body is all aluminum on a standard steel chassis. This gives it an incredibly low shipping weight under 4000 pounds! And. being aluminum. these is vitually no rust!Buyer must arrange shipping. I will assist with loading if needed. For questions or more information. please call 301-856-5556. Ask for John. On Jan-18-15 at 13:04:53 PST. seller added the following information:These cars have a lot of wood in them. The doors mount into the wood in the body and have a tendency to sag. We spent a lot of time rebuilding the mounting. The doors now close where they should with a resolute thud and no drag on the door sills.
