About this vehicleThis 1984 Austin FX4 London Taxi is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle is drivable.Seller's NotesRelisting. Local buyer last week didn’t work out. Leaving this listing up until it sells on auction Vehicle Details

Selling as part of an estate this beautiful old London Taxi first registered back in 1984, then sold to a private collector in 2012 and shipped to the US where it has been garaged since and well maintained. Mechanically is runs great, no issues, no rust, no dents, paint is good (not perfect a few light scratches) and interior is in good shape, new carpeting, modernized Bluetooth radio, seats have minimal wear and the taxi meter installed doesn’t seem to be working. It has an updated 4 Cylinder Nissan TD27 diesel engine we believe was a rebuild and has no more than 5,000 miles. The car has a clean title (VINFX4RDR0060340) that is in process of being transferred to a family member in order to facilitate the sale and transfer to a new owner. The car itself has 129,000 miles. It was well maintained over the years and recently a new battery was installed and tires are like new. It was purchased in 2012 for $15,000 and with the low miles and good+ condition there is a lot of life left to this car we believe that 10K asking price is reasonable. It is being sold as is, private sale. We are motivated to sell before winter so any reasonable offers will be considered. Transporting the vehicle will coordinated by the buyer, $500 non-refundable deposit will hold the vehicle for 30 days. The Austin FX4 is a hackney carriage (taxicab) was produced from 1958 until 1997. It was sold by Austin from 1958 until 1982, when Carbodies, who had been producing the FX4 for Austin, took over the intellectual rights to the car. They continued production until 1984, when London Taxis International took over rights and production continued until 1997. In all, more than 75,000 FX4s were built. These taxis sold for another life outside of London all over the world from film- companies, hotels, restaurants, language schools, airports, courtesy cars, limousines, mini-buses, crew-cabs and also sold as museum pieces.I can see this vintage taxi being used and appreciated in various resort communities for the purpose it was intended or for a private owner that has interest in getting a nice piece of British history.
