Description of 1968 Pontiac GTO REAL DEAL GTO

RARE & SOLID 1968 PONTIAC GTO WITH PHS! Approximately forty years ago. as the gas crisis of 73 hit. a GM Engineer with a whole lot of foresight and ambition. began collecting cars and storing them all over the Country. Tucked away in the backwoods of Missouri on some old farm land. we came across a barn. Within this barn. we found three GTO's (1964. 1966/sold. & 1968) which have sat. untouched. for the better part of four decades. Here is that barn as well as the cars: We do have the 64 still available but the 66 has been sold. Based on the PHS documentation. here is what we know this car came with originally: Solar Red with Black Interior 400 4 Barrel Turbo Hydra Matic Air Conditioning Custom Seat Belts Dual Stage Air Cleaner Push Button Radio & Manual Antenna Power Steering Power Brakes Deluxe Wheel Discs Glass Soft Ray This car is extremely solid. It still retains all of its original sheet metal and will not need any major sheet metal replacement. The trunk. trunk drops. frame rails. both front and rear floors. rockers. doors. roof. rear sail panel. tail panel. firewall. cowl. everything is completely solid and rust free. The quarters are also solid with the exception of a few small pin size holes that exist within the rear sections of the quarters. The areas that wrap around the rear tail panel and meet the deck lid. The areas are very small and could easily be taken care of. The fenders and hood will need repair or replaced. As you will see within the photos. she had been lightly hit before being parked. From what I can tell. the front bumper and grill assembly were replaced and are not correct to the car. The front bumper and assembly are in good shape. The interior within this GTO is complete minus the factory bucket seats. Surprisingly. the interior is in good shape. The dash pad. headliner. back seat. door panels. and center console could be cleaned up and re-used. It is of excellent survivor quality. The motor within the GTO is a 69 with 69 Ram Air III Heads. The GTO does have a transmission but I have not verified if it is the original. We also have not tried to turn the motor over so I do not know if it is locked up. I believe it would be safe to assume that it is due to the fact that the valve covers were missing from the motor when we found it and there was quite a bit of dust and dirt built up around the heads. I know from my personal experience. all of these old muscle cars need the typical sheet metal work/replacement. Because of how solid this car is. whoever ends up owning it is going to be at a huge advantage just because of how much they will save in having a straight and rust free body. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the GTO early as I do have it for sale "locally". My goal here is to sell the GTO. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I do have a clear title for the GTO. As always. good luck and happy bidding! Thanks. /p> 816-308-0351 Looking for another another Muscle car? Feel free to check out my other auctions by clicking here! Thank you!
