Description of 1950 Bentley Mark VI

Up For Sale1950 Rolls Royce Bentley Mark VI

This was previously owned by the same RROC member for many years. During that time it was serviced regularly and driven to many car shows/RROC events...Although this is anything but a "show car" it's a REALLY TIDY and a RUST FREE example, the body lines, panels, and trims are all correct!!! All doors and windows open and close correctly, the sun roof even opens & closes properly. The engine runs well and always starts (may need a little fine tuning soon) but most important the car runs. There is a slight leak from the radiator and should be looked into soon as well. The brakes stop, but are not the greatest, plain and simple the car needs some work. The wood is very nice and looks to be restored some years ago... The leather, carpet, and head liner show very well and are VERY tidy for a car of this age. Paint is at 10 ft. status, although it looks remarkable in the pictures, its scattered with cracks and spidering on the paint. The paint looks to have been done MANY years ago... 64 year old Bentley's don't often come on the market, and this one is even more rare because its solid & RUST FREE as you can see in photos! This could be an opportunity of a life time for the right buyerwhocan take proper care as it needs andgive it more love and care to be entered into car shows and to be kept as a piece of historyfor many years to come. This is not the only Bentley I have for sale I alsohave a 1948 Mark VI Bentley owned by Queen Elizabeth II and King George all with the original paper work to show. SO please if you haveanyquestions feel free to message me becauseI'mlooking for someone who knows what they are buying and a two car deal is on the table!!

TheBentley Mark VIis an automobile fromBentleywhich was produced from 1946 to 1952.

The Mark VI 4-door standard steel sports saloonwas the first post-warluxury carfrom Bentley. Announced in May 1946and produced from 1946 to 1952 it was also both the first car fromRolls-Roycewith all-steelcoachworkand the first complete car assembled and finished at their factory. These very expensive cars were a genuine success; long-term, their weakness lay in the inferior steels forced on them by government's post-war controls.Chassiscontinued to be supplied to independentcoach builders. Bentley manufactured Four-door Saloon, two-door saloon, bodied saloon and drop head coupe models.

This first Bentley factory finished car was given the name Bentley Mark VI standard steel sports saloon. This shorter wheelbase chassis and engine was a variant of the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraithof 1946 and, with the same standard steel body, became the cautiously introduced Silver Dawnof 1949. In 1952 both Rolls Royce Silver Dawn and Bentley Mk VI standard steel bodies were modified to incorporate a boot of about twice the size and the result became known as the R Type Bentleybased on the Chassis number at which the change took place. The name of the Rolls Royce Silver Dawn was not changed after the modification that started with the "E" series in these cars. This Car comes when Rolls Royce was Bentley and steel was at a shortage nothing was spared on these cars.
