Description of 1983 BMW 3-Series 320i

You will be bidding on a 1983 BMW 320i that been known as the "Bozo-Mobile" for the 26 years I have owned her. Love her as I do, must sell her. I purchasedthe carin May 1989 from a dealer at 75,176 miles. I have the repair and maintenance records since then. Thecar has been garaged for the past 26 years but I believe the original owner had the car on the street in foggy San Francisco for 6 years. It has rarely been driven the past several years. Today, /21/2015, he odometer reads 178,806 miles.

The vehicle passed the CA Smog certification on 4/1/2015. The title is clear.

This 1983 BMW 320i is a 32-year old car in good condition consistent with its age and use. The body has some rust at the rear (see photos) and is due now to have its timing belt/chain replaced. The car has its original factory Henna Rot paint; although the car presents very well, uperficial chips and scratches are evident upon close inspection. There are some cracks on the dash (see photo). There are some small tears on the lower outer corner of the drivers side door panel and on the rear of the front passenger seat (see photo). There is some wear on the outer edge of the drivers seat, ut no tears (see photo). The rear dash has some wear and small stains and there are some stains on the carpet. The rubber part at the right front bumper is deformed (caught on something in a tight garage). The wood spare tire cover in the trunk is cracked (see photo). I've tried to represent the car's condition with numerous photos. Please contact me with any questions. I see the best potential buyer as someone with mechanical interest and ability or the finances to take this on as a project car.

The car has had regular routine maintenance. Major work on the car includes:

178,615 miles: new battery.

177,154 miles: new front brake pads and brake sensor repair.

172,405 miles: replace catalytic convertor with after market unit; replacefront sway bar lower control arm bushings, ront brake hoses, racked air filter housing air boot, xhaust hangers, nd weak transmission mount.

169,428 miles: replace worn isolation bushings for mounting of steering rack to front subframe, ew rear tires, eplace rear shocks with new O.E. units; alignment.

141,980 miles: valve job.

135,790 miles: replace starter motor.

131,676 miles: replace ignition switch and muffler.

128,156 miles: replace radiator, ransfer switch, oses, hermostat.

125,698 miles: replace front shocks.

121,076 miles: replace starter motor, eplace front crank seal, istr. drive housing gasket.

115,500 miles: replace water pump.

111,554 miles: replace rear crank seal and gasket, il pump and oil pan gasket, lternator bushings, il press switch, lutch (press plate, isc pilot and release bear.).

The car has its original BMW factory radio and cassette player, orking, nd the factory in-trunk tool kit.

With sale of the vehicles comes the BMW 320i Owner's Handbook, aynes BMW 320i Automotive Repair Manual, nd tire chains for snow travel.

The buyer takes responsibility for car pick-up and/or out-of-area transport, f needed. I'll do what I can from my end to facilitate the transfer, ut cannot take full responsibility for it. Vehicle location is on direct public transit routes from both San Francisco and Oakland International Airports.
