Description of 1983 BMW 3-Series 320is

Up for sale is an all original 1983 BMW 320is. The car is in extremely good condition with all matching body panels. The car runs and drives extremely well and the transmission up shifts and downshifts through all the gears with no grinds. The car is registered through JAN-2015 and passed smog 3 months ago. Interior: The interior is all original and in excellent condition. The factory Recaros have never been reupholstered and look almost as they did out of the showroom floor. The rear seat is also in great condition with no rips or tears. The original headliner is in great condition with no rips or tears. The sunroof is in great working order and opens and closes effortlessly. All windows roll up and down smoothly. Door panels are both in excellent condition. The dash has some cracks but the dash remains flat and un-warped (It would be a good candidate for a dash cap). The heater works. however the AC is missing the belt so at this point in time he car does not have working AC. Exterior: The car has ABSOLUTLEY NO RUST. The car has not been lowered and sits on the factory BBS rims. The paint on the vehicle shows very well. it received a re-spray at some point in its life. Overall the exterior is in great condition. There are some nicks here and there as is to be expected with a 31 year old car. There is one fender with some minor damage (please see photos). All and all I would say the car is an 8/10. Drivetrain: The engine runs strong and accelerates smoothly. The odometer shows just over 94. 00 miles however it recently stopped working. At this point I would say the car has aprox 97. 00 miles. The car passed smog with no issues three months ago. There are no oil or coolant leaks. On seldom occasions during a cold start I have seen a small amount of smoke from the tail pipe. Doesn’t always happen but I wanted to mention in the interest of full disclosure. Recent compression test showed all cyclinders between 152-154 psi. The transmission shifts smoothly with no grinds. The clutch feels strong with no slipping whatsoever. Items the car will need: In the near future the car will need some new brake pads. Also the car could use a wheel alignment and balancing of the tires. Recent Maintenance: Oil change less the 200 miles go. The ignition timing was set a week ago. The car received a recent tune up (plugs. wires. distributor cap/rotor filter). VIEW MORE PICTURES HEREhttp://s170. photobucket. com/user/juane30m3/library/1983%20BMW%20320is
