Final Production 2002 This week Canyon State Classics brings to market this 1976 BMW 2002 in gorgeous condition inside and out. This car is a mostly lifelong California car and has ZERO rust. The car has been very well serviced its whole life and has a whole book of receipts are included. The just received a full cosmetic restoration including a $6000 repaint. all new exterior trim. emblems. window gaskets. and even sunroof and window felts. Some neat period correct exterior upgrades were also completed including stylish Euro-Spec bumpers. MAHLE-BBS upgraded wheels. and vintage Cluteroche fog lights! This car is ultra-rare and is rarely seen on the roads due to low import numbers. and so many lost due to accidents and rust. Another neat note: We decoded the VIN for this car and it is one of the last 100 Automatic 2002s to roll off the final production line in July of 1976! These cars were notorious for rusting out due to a lack of zinc coating. but this car has always been in salt free climate so that is not an issue. The paint on the car is finished in it gorgeous color Jade Green and was just fully wet sanded and buffed to a blinding luster after a $6000 respray. The car doesn't have a single ding. dent. or scratch. The car is riding on restored 13" Mahle-BBS sport wheels and BMW center caps and are in like-new condition. They look great and have a like new set of Sumitomo radial tires mounted. All of the glass on the car is original BMW glass on the car even the windshield. Stainless and chrome trim is all in place and in excellent condition with no pitting or damage. Everything cosmetically on this car is new. No expense spared. The interior is in great shape all around. The tan vinyl seats are all in very good condition and look very nice with no rips or ware. which shows the quality of materials used in this car. The carpets and headliner are all original. and very nice with no ware or damage. All dials and controls function as they should. The heat and controls work correctly and blows warm when needed. The A/C is fully functional and blows cold with a new A/C compressor just installed and the system serviced! The manually operated sunroof works great and really is a nice addition to this little 2002. The car has very nice period correct Blaupunkt Cassette player and new speakers. Mechanically. this 2002 runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The car just came back from our Euro tech and was gone through. tuned up. and new tires installed! It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. The 2. 0L engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. It is reliable. easy to fix. and parts are readily available. The car was always regularly serviced by a small BMW shop near the previous owner's home. The car does not leak a drop of anything and the suspension feels super tight and responsive. Automatic transmission is smooth with no slipping or issues. The transmission and top end of the motor have been resealed in the last 4 years (approx). The disc brakes (brembo rotors in the front) stop the car extremely well and handles great with Bilstein shocks. I would drive this car anywhere! The engine compartment beautifully restored with all correct decals and accessories present. All in all. this is one of the cleanest and nicest 2002's on the market.
