Description of 1986 BMW 7-Series

In 1986 this was on of the last years for the first 7-series sedans from BMW. This is a very wellpreserved model that I have enjoyed for the past several years. I purchased this several years ago as a winter beater. After driving it for a few weeks Idecided that this was too nice to be used as a winter beaterand then spent the next several months making multiple changes and additions tothis wonderful car. Since the motor was already runningwonderfully, ot leaking fluids or using them in between oil changes, ll I did was replace hoses, elts and change fluids.
Overall conditionis very nice. Starts right up, rives, ost electronics work asthey should. I say most, ike cruise does not work, ouple seat directionsdon't work (like it will notrecline allthe way), eat works but a/c blower does not (this is an easy fix and I will include theresistor that needs replaces). Allwindows roll up and down, unroof opens and closes, ights work, adio works (original), ven the seat heaters still work. Inaddition, original spare (never seen the ground), ools, ack, riginal owners manual, MW cassettes, nd original window sticker ($41,770 in 1986!).
The exterior is excellent shape for the year and still wearsoriginal paint. Shines up very nice and the chrome is excellent without any pitting. There are a few small scratches, othing major but expectedin the age of the car. There are three blemishes, mallbit of rust on the rear under the drivers side tail light, nd two areason each front fender. On the interior, he flaws include a couple dash cracks which arehidden under the dash cover.
Since I have owned it, have added thefollowing improvements and modifications: K&N filter, ored out throttle body, uropean tune chip (added 20hp), ew KYB shocks and struts on H&R lowering springs, ew front tie rods (left right and center), ll new suspension bushings front and rear, 8in OEM wheels with good tires, ellow high beams, ll new slotted anddrilled rotors and pads and new Ansa exhaust and muffler center and rear sections. All together I've spent over $4000 in these upgrades and repairs to make it a fun and reliable cruiser.
This is a reliable car that has never left mestranded, tarts every time, nd is wonderful around town or on the interstate. The upgrades lower it to give it a "stance" and corners likeon rails. I get more compliments and thumbs up on this car thananything else I have owned (whichincludes 911s, ot rods, ther BMWs, nd 69 Camaro). It is classic, porty, nd you will not see one on every corner.
