Description of 1991 BMW 7-Series

I bought this car on eBay where it was advertised as having a strong engine after my other 750 needed a head gasket. It is a good engine that doesn't leak. but it will need to be rebuilt. I tested 2 cylinders and compression was low. I have not opened this motor yet. but I suspect leaky exhaust valves. I drove the car home a year ago about 30 miles with no issues whatsoever. it just has low compression. Since this engine needs to be rebuilt as it turns out. I rebuilt my other car's engine instead and this car has sat since the day I bought it. I've run it a couple times and it starts right up no problem. Rebuilding one V12 was enough fun for me. I'm not interested in rebuilding this engine as well. but could definitely give some pointers if you would be attempting the project yourself. The engine I rebuilt on the car I'm keeping was a complete success - so much power! This engine has fantastic potential. It does not have a battery. and due to the low compression. I recommend putting it on a trailer. It has a clean title. Interior is rough. since I purchased this car with the intention of only using the engine. The interior could be restored. A couple plastic parts. a switch or two. and a seat-belt buckle in the back are missing. The headliner is sagging and the windshield is cracked. No electrical issues the last time I ran the engine. Here is an engine-rebuild parts list based on what I bought when rebuilding my 1992 750iL. I checked realoem. com. and all these BMW part numbers should hold true for this 1991 750iL. You would not necessarily need to replace all the parts shown below:Part Part # Qty Head Gasket. 3a 11121731654 1 Timing gasket. 3a 11141733453 1 Head Gasket. 3b 11121731653 1 Timing gasket. 3b 11141733452 1 lower radiator hose 11531741414 1 center coolant channel gasket 11141736959 1 upper radiator hose 11531741413 1 m8 x 106 exhaust bolt (11621716350) 8 exhaust nut (18107523805) 24 Valve Stem Kit 11349059172 2 Oil spray bar washer 07119963041 8 oil filter 11421731635 1 exhaust bracket spring 11761716668 8 exhaust bracket nut 11621711954 8 Harmonic balancer bolt 11231736585 1 Cylinder head bolt set 11127583116 2 upper timing chain guide 11311710134 1 side timing chain guide 11311745998 1 rear crosspipe gasket 11531725788 2 o-ring coolant pipe 11537501776 1 o-ring coolant pipe 11531710048 2 o-ring coolant pipe 11531710055 1 head - rear gasket 11141725787 2 head dowel 11121726241 4 Lower timing case gasket 11141725756 1 Lower timing case gasket 11141725758 1 Lower timing case gasket 11141725760 1 Lower timing case gasket 11141725762 1 front crankshaft seal 11141725994 1 gas cap seal 11141729459 1 Upper timing case gasket 11141725767 1 Upper timing case gasket 11141725768 1 Upper timing case gasket 11141725770 1 Upper timing case gasket 11141725778 1 Upper timing case gasket 11141725772 1 Upper timing case gasket 11141725776 1 distributor housing gasket 11141725780 2 camshaft seal 11141271415 2 Lower oil pan gasket 11131710195 1 timing chain 11311710155 1 exhaust gasket 11621708966 12 exhaust stud 07119908168 24 Oil pump washer 07119904115 2 Oil pump nut 07129922716 2 Upper oil pan gasket 11131702047 1 Oil pump. large o-ring 11421288890 1 Oil pump. small o-ring 11421713597 1 Oil dipstick o-ring 11431707164 1 Oil dipstick washer 11437838127 1 Center Coolant Channel Bolt 07119913021 14 Center Coolant Channel Washer 07119932099 14 Rear Coolant Cross-pipe Bolt 07119913500 5 Rear Coolant Cross-pipe Bolt 07119912327 1 Rear Coolant Cross-pipe Washer 07119932099 1
