Description of 1976 BMW 2002

If you are looking for an excellent. near-perfect 1976 BMW 2002. THIS IS IT! I am sad to sell my classic beauty. but have to because of divorce. It is garaged and has been driven mostly on weekends. I love driving this car. and have put much time and money into making it exceptional. The BMW 2002 is the model that made BMW number one as a quality car maker. and why they coined the phrase 'the ultimate driving machine'. It has an inline four cylinder 2. 0L. 1990cc engine that is 100hp (150 with Weber carburetor) at 5500rpm with torque at 106lbs. ft at 3500rpm. When I purchased the car in 2013 the engine had been rebuilt utilizing new Wiseco forged pistons. new bearings. timing chain and guides. re-built rods. oil pump. valve job. front and rear stress bars and the battery was relocated to the trunk. Odometer is stuck at 48. 44 (a common problem with this model). but there's under 6. 00 miles on the rebuilt engine. After I bought it I put in a rebuilt transmission. clutch. shift mechanism. rear main engine seal. rear brake wheel cylinders. fuel pump. thermostat. front and rear struts. front and center drag link. outer tie rod ends (left and right). inner rods (left and right). idler arm. drive shaft carrier support bearing. lower ball joints. sway bar links. rear shocks. fuel lines. hoses. lower control arm bushings. universal drive shaft u joint . I replaced the Weber carburetor with a new one. There were leaks in the gas tank. so I had it repaired. resurfaced and rubber coated (outside). A locksmith made a trunk key and several sets of keys for me. There is NO SMOG EQUIPMENT on this car. so the engine's performance is optimum. and I didn't have any problem getting the California smog certificate. I bought the car that way. so I tracked down and purchased ALL smog equipment (just in case) and an original air filter. plus an adapter for the Weber carb. I even have photos to show which parts fit where. All will be included with purchase! Cosmetically. this 2002 is gorgeous. was never in a wreck and has NO RUST! The bumpers are tucked into the body and the side covers trimmed to fit for a clean. stock look. I had all small dents and dings removed and had the car repainted in it's original BMW Chamonix white. New badges. new side mirrors. restored wheels(E30 bottle caps). new front and rear window seals. door seals and trunk seal. new back light lenses($120 each). new front fog lights. new wiper blades. The interior in good condition. The seat upholstery is in great shape and there are no rips or blemishes . I had the back seat re-stuffed. The dash has minor cracks in the usual spots (I had planned to get the dash wrapped). and a small tear in the headliner. Center counsel is in good shape. gauges work (except odometer). switches. wipers. horn. blower. heater. windshield squirter nozzles. interior light. outer lights all work correctly. Back window and backseat side windows have the original 1970's blueish tint. There is a stereo with CD and ipod port. The steering wheel is from a '73 2002. so I tracked down and purchased the original '76 steering wheel which I have not installed. because I like the one that's on there now much better (I will include '76 steering wheel with purchase). The floor mats are made from a 90 year old Persian rug (also included). This 1976 BMW 2002 looks and runs great. and turns heads wherever it goes! You are buying an excellent vehicle that has had ALL major work done. plus a box of all smog parts. original air filter (with Weber adapter). additional original steering wheel. repair manual and restoration guide. Persian rug floor mats and all paper work. This car is sweet. sweet. sweet to drive and the torque makes it zip! Clear title.
