Description of 1991 BMW 3-Series 318is

Purchased from NJ seller and and enthusiast owned since 2005. Professionally repainted by True Performance Automotive, Plain City, Ohio in 2009. Dealer maintained by Midwestern Auto Group, Dublin, Ohio and mechanically sound. If this car has needed it, it's received it. Nearly all stock with a few tasteful upgrades. Not perfect, but darn close. I've enjoyed this car immensely, but it's time to move on to my next project.

Please note, this car is not a California example. I purchased this car from the seller because the body panels and interior were nearly perfect. Some undercarriage components were rusty and were replaced with donor car parts. It took time and money to restore the the car to its current state and I have no rust concerns. A small section underneath the battery was also addressed before the car was repainted (a common problem for E30s). Since its restoration, this has been a fair weather summer driver only. The car has rarely even seen rain and certainly has never been driven in the winter months.

Please note however, this is a 27-year-old car and is sold as is.

  • New upper, lower oil pan and oil filter housing gaskets are due for replacement and will be included in sale - new installation bolts/washers (40) also included
  • 15" BBS "basketweaves" are notoriously hard to keep clean and the next owner may prefer to have them refurbished.
  • Other imperfections include the usual 2" tear in the vinyl driver's bolster, a VERY small chip or two on the front panels, a missing plastic cover on the passenger seat adjustment controls, faded seatbelt clasps, and an occasional lose connection on the dashboard clock (but still 100% functional).
That said, these issues can all be easily remedied and I can confidently state that this one of the best surviving examples of the venerable E30 318is you will find. I've taken great pride in this car and hope its next owner will as well. Vintage BMWs are in demand and if properly maintained, this car will likely continue to appreciate in value.
