Description of 1992 BMW 8-Series

MOST important. On 11/08/2011 a guy behind me going 5 mph hit me. NO bumper damage, ZERO but paint chipped. AND, you know what, it never really bothered me so I never had it repaired which might benefit me now because I can show the EXACT damage. I should have never reported it as it's so so small and isolated to the left side of the bumper BUT I was annoyed so I had the police show up and they cited him and that is why carfax is a bad and unfair system as it flags any tiny issue. Zoom up picture #2.
I am ONLY the 2nd owner of the car and I am 61 years old, bought it 12 years ago from the first owner who was 92 years old AND had a chauffeur. ALWAYS a warm climate car, California and Arizona. When I bought it it had 41,997 ACTUAL MILES. I drive her at least over 4 weeks to keep her properly lubricated, now has 66190 miles, tiny miles on a V12. I own 4 classic cars so I know how to maintain them. AND I don't personal maintain them I take them to SunValley Imports in Tempe, AZ who specialize in imports, BMW are their specialty.
Yes, the 850s come with an expense in maintenance BUT I've spent what it takes to make her drivable and ALL work done can me verified by Sun Valley Imports. Their number will be shared if requested.
Paint is absolutely stunning as the first owner and I have always garage kept her.
INTERIORThe 850i interior is an elegant, soothing and high-tech minimalist experience from the 90's. It features a power sunroof, electrically adjustable steering column with memory function, remote central locking and automatic climate control. The interior is finished in dove grey leather, showing typical wear for it's age. The original radio and rear 6 disc CD player works as well as the cassette player. Also has a weather channel on the radio to catch local weather reports. Another strange techy thing it has is a computer than does a lot (disables the cars ignition with a code you can enter, can flush out hot air in the car up to 2 times a day, compute driving time between distances, as well as the typical outside temp, miles of gas remaining, etc.
EXTERIORPaint is AWESOME. A couple rock chips have left 2 marks on front hood, of course that always will happen with any car. 2 chips that's it.
AC is cold, no suspention issues as I have had all maintained with Sun Valley. The things that can go wrong have been attended like fuel pumps, had fuel lines also replaced when fuel pump failed. Actually only one failed but I had both replaced and fuel lines as well. Tires have 3000 miles on them so AWESOME shape and only 3 years old so plenty of life.
Oil changed every 4000 miles even though I use 100% synthetic Mobile 1.
Now the few negatives: Headliner is drooping in 1 place BUT not detached, see the last picture. Seats have enough wear that I cover them BUT could and should be replaced if you want the perfect look as the car is 27 years old. Even with only 66190 miles leather dries, cracks and it did most of that while in the ownership of the first owner. The computer I mentioned, that does all those crazy things, typical of all 850 and 840s and I think the 750 and 740 had this also. Some of the pixels for the display fail. It's still readable if you are clever enough to fill in the blanks. I never actually use the computer as the only real benefit is the miles till empty and a few times I locked the ignition with a 4 digit code but who needs to really do that.
In all reality there are no 850i's in this condition with this rediculously low miles YET enough miles to know it's been driven to keep it road worthy and if you want to talk to Sun Valley Imports for verification you can call them. I'm David Marko and they will give you the history, no surprises and if they total it up I probably spent about $8-9k over the years in upkeep and preventative maintenance, NO emergencies, no towing the car in, no overheating, etc.
Why am I selling. You will see more and more listing of eBay items. We are moving 2400 miles back to the East Coast and selling a lot of stuff, including cars.
