Description of 1993 BMW 325is I AUTOMATIC

Up for sale is my families 1993 325is Coupe. If you’re reading this then you know these cars have become very desirable. This is a completely stock unmodified car, doesn’t even have a computer chip. I have owned five BMWs including a 1992 325I so I am familiar with these cars. My parents, the current owners have owned the car since May of 2000 even though the Carfax report indicates original owner. The car has been well-maintained and was their weekend car up until 2012 when they purchased a new car. They live in New York City and owned a house in the Hamptons on Eastern Long Island that they drove to and from each weekend. Because the odometer display is pixelated and hard to read after 2019 the mileage during inspections was not reported accurately. The car has 156,000 original miles on it. Was barely driven last 10 years. The car is still registered under my parents and that’s why it has New York license plates. My daughter has been driving the car for the last seven months and she relocated to Nevada so we recently had the car serviced and inspected and shipped it to Nevada. Unfortunately shortly after the car arrived the automatic transmission warning light came on as well as the check engine light so she brought it to a local European car specialist for diagnosis and repair. He thought the problem was related to the check engine light since the code indicated throttle position sensor. The throttle position sensor, coolant sensor and crankshaft position sensors were changed but the problem still persists. When the car reaches operating temperature the transmission goes into safety mode. It also appears that the common problem water pump is leaking too. Because my daughter is 21 yrs old and not knowledgeable about cars and I live on the East Coast we decided to sell the car to the highest bidder. As you can see from the pictures there is one dent on the panel in the front of the car where the kidney grills are located. The rear bumper cover also has a scrape and needs to be replaced. A newly purchased left rear bumper cover molding is included. There is also a molding missing from the passenger side front fender. Other than those issues the body is very straight and the car has never been in an accident. The car runs and drives extremely well except for the recent transmission issue. The car will need to be transported since it’s not recommended to drive when the transmission is in safety mode. If the car was with me and not my daughter, I would put the time and money into getting it repaired. As you can see from the pictures the front seats show wear and age and the interior needs a new headliner. The door panels need repair and the glove compartment door cover is off. The sunroof motor does not work. The radio doesn’t work and the control unit display is also not working. The AC is the original Freon and when it’s charged it will last a couple of months because it has a slow leak. If you know about these cars these engines are bulletproof and this one runs extremely well. The transmissions are also bulletproof so it’s unusual to have encountered a problem. Any questions, feel free to reach out. This is a no reserve auction so the car goes to the highest bidder. Good luck bidding.
