Description of 1941 Buick Roadmaster Fastback Sedanette |
| NO RESERVE - 1941 Buick Special Sedan. Fireball Straight 861k. 248 cubic inch Fireball "straight eight" motor with dual Stromberg carburetors. nbsp;three on the tree column shift manual transmission. Purchased from the second owner who had it since the 80's. I am told the mileage is original. Mechanical: The Buick is roadworthy; recent work on brakes (lines. hoses. cylinders. etc). exhaust and full tuneup as well as valve cover and other gaskets. The original starter setup still works; you push down fully on the accelerator to start the car. My mechanic was amazed by how clean the car is underneath. he thinks the 61k on the odometer is original. The body is very straight. nbsp;all the doors open and close easily. nbsp;floors. trunk and frame original and solid. the car has always been garaged. Modern radial tires with "port-o-wall" whitewall inserts. tires are in good shape but inserts could use replacing. All the gauges work including gas. temperature and voltage and the dash lights work. The heater blower works intermittently. I am including a year correct Buick AM radio I bought on Ebay. the radio slot has a "radio delete" cover with the Buick logo. The clock is not hooked up. The clutch engages easily and the shifter moves as it should. the emergency brake works properly. The trunk will need a new handle. All directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work. as well as wipers and horn. Cruises nicely on the highway. holds the road well with the modern radials. Engine starts easily even after sitting. doesn't leak anything. garage floor always dry when I pull her out. Cosmetic: New two tone paint with a nice metallic finish. Interior is complete and original. in driver condition. I purchased a full set of modern leather. heated power Buick seats and are included. The seats you see up front are actually rear seats; they fit perfectly into the frame of the original seats. nothing was modified. They come out easily if you want to put the originals back in. The original front seats have patched areas as seen in the pix but are still nice and springy. the rear seats are in similar condition and have covers on them. Under the passenger side of the front seat is a heater fan. I don't know if it works. The headliner. visors and door panels are in good shape. just a bit discolored from age. small areas of fraying here and there. New carpet laid in and package shelf recovered. The glass is good with one crack on the driver's vent window. The air vent below the windshield opens and closes (it's got a glass topped handle inside). I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Buick is for sale locally and I'm willing to accept reasonable buy it now offers as well.
