Description of 1971 Buick Skylark GS

Up for auction is my 1971 Buick GS Skylark convertible. This car is a clone, ut the engine(350), ransmission and interior were transferred over from a 72 Buick GS before I bought it. The bucket seats and floor shifter are also from the same GS. Since I have owned the car, have put the following new parts in it:

  • Replaced the convertible top
  • Replaced the convertible top motor, ift cylinders, nd all the lines. Have also converted over the top switch to relays so it does not run all the voltage through the tiny switch in dash(switch works like it should).
  • Installed DigiKey LED taillights into car(this kit converts the existing bulbs with a panel with LEDs).
  • Installed new taillight lenses
  • Put brand new tires and black 17x8 rims on car. Also, ave the original 15" Buick rims still mounted on tires WHICH ARE INCLUDED.
  • Installed new CD player in dash(already had a cheap one in there when I bought it) and added two4" speakers in dash(can't see in original location), wo 6.5" speakers in aftermarket kickpanels and 2 6x9's in rear brace(can't see). This is all driven with a Kenwood amp in the trunk.
  • New Optima battery within last year.
  • Replaced the spark plugs, ires, tc. within the last 3 years.
  • Car had the rear quarter panels replaced before I bought it and they are done very well. There is some bubbling at the bottom of the doors/quarter panels(see pictures), ut overall body is in excellent shape. I never got around to detailing the engine compartment in this car and that will still need to be done if you are worried about that sort of thing. Has air conditioning(doesn't work) and also cruise control setup(never used/tested) both still installed in the engine bay. Interior is in decent shape, ut the driver side door has some carpeting coming off the door(where your foot rubs getting out). Car has power windows and power locks. Rear Bumper hasN25option where the exhaust feeds through bumper.

Overall this is good summer cruiser that looks nice and can take you anywhere. Keep in mind this is still a 44 year old car and not a 100 point show car. I also have a stack of new parts for this car I never got around to installing that I would discuss selling to the new owner of the car afterwards if interested.

Car can be shipped if you set everything up and payment clears before it leaves. I have the title in hand along with a bunch of receipts for work being done going back about 20 years.

Would consider trading for a 99 30th Anniversary Trans Am, ut that's about all I am looking for.

    Thanks!!!!
