Description of 1987 Buick Other

This was my elderly Mother's car, he put the first 40K on it over many years. Then I got it about 20 years ago. It was mint looking then. The (ex) wife said she would LOVE to drive it if I refurbished it. I replaced every conceivable rubber hose, id a big tuneup, ew exhaust system, ew alternator, heel alignment, ot it detailed, nd put a Zeibart rustproofing on it. It was about $1500 for all. I brought it home and she said: "I changed my mind, here's no airbag in that thing". I said, there WILL be an airbag when you get in it".
Anyway, fter the divorce, he gave the car to her son. I guess she didn't mind if HE drove a car with no airbag. He probably drove it 500 miles. One of the (new) hose clamps allowed a tiny coolant drip apparently. He never checked any fluids, ust let all the water drip out until after a few months it overheated. I filled it up with water and drove it home. It was leaking at the head gasket. I was so discouraged I put the car away for 7 years (bad memories). Then I pulled it out one day and in a burst of energy, ulled the head, ot it milled, ave it a valve job (it didn't need) and a new gasket kit. It started right up and ran flawlessly. I drove it for a few days, ut 280.8 miles on it, nd then while on the highway the oil light flickered for a second. I pulled over to the side of the road, nd while idling, he motor seized up. A friend of mine says that maybe there was leftover rust from water leaking into the block when he overheated it. But there is no water in the oil now. Oil is clean.
In any event, had no inside storage for the poor thing and it has been under a carport since, or 2 years, nd now has lots of surface rust on the roof, ome on the trunk lid, nd bottom insides of both doors. Everything rusts like this in the Keys, wish I didn't work here. I am hoping that someone not as discouraged as I can save this nice car from the crusher. They are very uncommon, nd really, t was a peppy little car with the optional large motor in it. It also handled really well. Not pictured is the headliner, hich had that typical GM foam crap that would let loose, o the fabric is removed but the cardboard is still there. Some chrome trim is detached but I think it is in the trunk.
Yes, ou will need to "Bring A Trailer". That website seems to have developed an interest in these vehicles. I am starting the bidding at $400, hich is $100 more than the scrap yard will give me, hich will pay for this ad, nd that's about it! I will also sell locally, o don't get mad if I get some big offer and close the sale.
