Buick was always considered the underdog when it came to performance until the we reached the pinnacle year of 1970. Out of nowhere Buick built the baddest muscle car of all time. Motor Trend said it was all out, the most powerful car they ever tested. Beating out a Hemi Cuda and the legendary LS-6 Chevelle. The 455 was new for 1970 and had an under-rated measurement of 360 Horsepower which we all know why that was stated. Real testing put this engine over 420 Horses with a whopping torque rating of 510 ft pounds of torque. Semi Trucks didn't even have that much torque. To some people and all die hard Buick collectors knew that in 1970, Buick arrived with its GS 455 Stage 1......took a good look around and nodded to anyone that wanted to challenge this earth shattering muscle car.
Buick ended the muscle car culture with class and style and is remember with its 1970 GS 455 Stage 1 as one of the baddest muscle cars ever produced. This Buick GS 455 Stage 1 offered here today is the real deal. Documented by Sloan and restored by Now and Then, the best Buick restoration company on the planet, it presents itself as show ready and only has 628 miles since its restoration which is document and added up to be over $68k, that's not including the actual value of the car. If you're looking for one to collect and invest in this has it all this is the one. It has a numbers matching drive-train and all the right factory options that make it truly 1 of 54 built with a 4 speed and factory a/c. This Buick was purchased from its second owner in 1977 and received a full frame off restoration in 2006. Please read on to find out the condition of this rare bird! And scroll down to view all the photos and video at the end. Thank you for visiting.
Exterior:
The exterior of this Buick has been restored to perfection. It was a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration that was done by the best, Now and Then. Every component was restored and detail. The chrome was redone, the body is straight and rust free. Underneath of the car looks as good as the top. The white vinyl top is new and really enhances the original Sherwood Poly Green metallic paint color. All the glass is excellent. This car is show ready. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
The interior as well as the exterior has been restored to perfection. The story of the interior is the car was built at the factory with a black vinyl top and black interior. The original purchaser of the car like the white interior better and had the dealer switch out the black seats and trim with the white. Dealers did anything back then to make a sale and the customer happy. When the car came to Now and Then for restoration, they documented the interior before the restoration started as indeed white and original to 1970. The color combination is perfect and the condition is as well. Comes with AM/FM radio, factory A/C and the full gauge package. Please view the photos and let us know of any questions.
Drive-Train:
This is a complete number matching drive train and has been completely rebuilt at the time of the restoration and with only a little over 600 miles since completion. All #s have been verified. This is a very rare combination. Out of all GS 455 Stage 1's built in 1970, 664 were 4 speeds...Out of the 664 that were 4 speeds only 54 of them came with A/C. The engine runs excellent. Its shifts perfectly and sounds like a beast. The car is so tight on the road with no rattles or squeaks. It has all new components underneath that all are factory correct. You would be hard pressed to find one nicer. Please look at the photos that show the detail of the restoration. Let us know of any questions you may have.
In Summation:
In production numbers this Buick is one of the rarest finds of all time and the restoration that was completed makes it one of the nicest. Finding a vehicle to invest in from the muscle car era can be a daunting task. The work has been done with the documentation to prove it and an appraisal at the time of completion verifies the same that we explained today and puts a value of $130,000 on it back in 2006. We encourage you to find one nicer.
PAYMENT:
