Description of 1931 Buick Series 60 Phaeton

Buick Phaeton is a car that has a 4 door tourer type body with a front mounted engine powering the rear wheels. The Buick Phaeton belongs to the Series 60 range of cars from Buick. Its engine is a naturally aspirated petrol, 4.8 litre, overhead valve 8 cylinder with 2 valves per cylinder. It develops 90 bhp (91 PS/67 kW) of power at 3000 rpm, and maximum torque of 271 N·m (200 lb·ft/27.6 kgm) at 1600 rpm. The engine delivers its power through to the wheels by means of a 3 speed manual transmission.
Rolling into the 1930s, Buick was riding high; their confidence boosted after a series of highly successful years. The late 1920s had been quite good for General Motors' cornerstone marque, readily achieving top-five results in the sales charts.
With only 463 units produced, this car is gorgeous in every aspect and demands immediate attention. The attention to detail throughout the restoration is stunning. This handsome flagship series 60 model 65 was purchased by its current owner in un-restored condition out of Chicago in 1986 and was professionally restored by David Griffioen in 1992. After its restoration the car won 1st place at the Buick Nationals.
The engine compartment is highly detailed and polished to a shine. The 272 CID inline 8 cylinder engine fires to life with ease(engine # 1241626) and the manual transmission shifts smoothly with casting #1240500-1. The car features Saginaw steering gear, Delco Remmy distributor as well. The sporty cockpit features stock gauges that are clear and in good condition. The steering wheel is in good condition and is not cracked. The car rides on 19 inch wire wheels with Custom Classic 6.50-19 wide whitewall tires with dual fender mounted spares and cowl lamps. The car also has a rear windshield along with full side curtains. The car was concurs level detailed and shows very well. It is a rare, highly attractive, and well-restored example of a very rare Classic Era Buick that is wonderfully suited to regular enjoyment.
