Description of 1960 Buick Other

BODY AND PAINT - The car is straight and I consider the paint to be driver quality. perhaps performed by a good amateur over 20 years ago. The paint on the trunk has faded. probably from the sun passing through the glass on the garage door. This car does shine extremely well as the pictures depict. While there are some chips. there are no dents. The chrome and stainless as well as the emblems are excellent. The plastic window on the convertible top has begun to separate; however. everything is completely functional. The car had to be solid as the restoration has held up after all these years. This car draws plenty of compliments. ENGINE / TRANSMISSION - The engine has always fired up even if it was not driven for 6-8 weeks. It does not smoke. The transmission performs flawlessly. As can be expected with the dynaflow transmission. it does leak a little. If I were keeping the car. I would not have the seals replaced until the transmission failed or the leak was more severe. The engine has not been detailed. INTERIOR - The pattern is correct for the car but I don't think they offered all white in 1960. There are no tears and it looks good. The dash looks as though it was not restored and has faded but still looks presentable. The speedometer is accurate and the gas gauge tends to work all the time in the summer. but can be intermittent in the cooler weather. The odometer works and can always be used as a backup should the gas gauge not work . OVERALL - This is a car that can be enjoyed right away. It can be driven any distance. I purchased the car in 1994 with the odometer showing 86. 00 miles and now it has 115. 00 miles . The car never sat for extended periods while I owned it. It would also be a good candidate for a full restoration as it is complete with the hard to get trim parts in excellent condition.
