Offered for sale is a 1979 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible - RoadStar, one off, ustom pre-production prototype vehicle shown at the 1979 L.A. Auto Show and other major car shows. Advertised base selling price in 1979 was $55,000.00. The original sales brochure is included with the vehicle. Despite significant buyer interest and deposits, o other vehicles were ever produced. This unique vehicle has been restored to excellent condition in and out. The RoadStar is the ultimate in a classy, nderstated boulevard cruiser that draws attention from car buffs and Cadillac enthusiasts everywhere. This vehicle is unlike any other Cadillac convertible conversion. The RoadStar was stretched 16"in front and shortened 8"in the rear to create a modern classic reminiscent of a 1937 Cord. The hood, ouvers, rille, eadlight covers, ront bumper, ender lines, ear quarter treatment, tainless side windows, ED running and turn signals and functional side pipes are all unique to this vehicle. The RoadStar features a $10,000.00 re-spray, nd a custom all leather interior designed to seamlessly integrate interior and exterior colors, osting approximately $15,000.00. The original GM 350 V8 engine has been extensively rebuilt and upgraded at a cost of over $12,000.00 and is set off by a chrome engine dress up kit. Seller has owned this vehicle for over twenty-five years and made numerous mechanical/engine and cosmetic improvements and modifications, ncluding an entirely new dash, onsole and door panels, esigned exclusively for this vehicle. Owner resided in Southern Utah for last five (5) years where smog certificate not required so vehicle does not have current smog certificate. The side pipes, ide pipe covers, lip up headlights and purpose built X member were all fabricated and installed by hot rod legend Gene Winfield. Other upgrades include all in one Dakota digital center gauge, ircular Alpine Marine Controller with matching Alpine speakers, ub and amplifier, ustom door handles, illet window switches and door locks and a unique dash mounted cup holder. Driven sparingly, he RoadStar has always been garaged and very well maintained and is sold as is. Since restoration it has been driven less than 200 miles. Exact actual mileage is uncertain due to several earlier complete gauge change outs; the current digital odometer has been programed to start at 55,000 miles which is a reasonable, f not generous, stimate of actual mileage.
