EXTERIOR

THIS AMAZING 1960 CADILLAC IS A REAL BEAUTY IN ITS POMPEIAN RED METALLIC PAINT, IG FINS, BUNDANT CHROME AND WIDE WHITE WALL TIRES! THIS IS SUCH A PRETTY CAR! THE CHROME, TAINLESS TRIM, RILLE, EADLAMP SURROUNDS, LASS, TC ARE ALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS CADI APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN REPAINTED ONCE IN ITS ORIGINAL POMPEIAN RED METALLIC PAINT THAT HAS A GOOD SHINE. THE CHROME BUMPERS LOOK LIKE NEW AND MAY HAVE BEEN RECHROMED TO LOOK THIS GOOD! THE WHITE CONVERTIBLE TOP HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ALL WEATHERSTRIPPING IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

WHEN YOU SIT DOWN INSIDE THIS CADI, T'S ALMOST LIKE BEING IN A TIME CAPSULE FROM 1960.

ONE OF THE MOST STRIKING IMPRESSIONS ONE RECEIVES FROM INSIDE THIS 1960 CADILLAC IS A MARVELOUS FEELING OF OPENNESS. SITTING IN THE CAR, HE DRIVER CAN EASILY SEE ALL FOUR CORNERS AND ENJOY AN ALMOST UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW IN ALL DIRECTIONS WITH THE TOP DOWN.

THIS CADI HAS ITS ORIGINAL RADIO, EATER AND RED & WHITE LEATHER UPHOLSTERY! THE INSTRUMENTS, OOR PANELS AND THE PADDED DASH ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO SIGNS OF WEAR. THIS 1960 CADILLAC IS POWERED BYITS ORIGINAL 325 HP V-8 ENGINE WITH 4-BBL CARBURETOR, UAL EXHAUST AND HYDRA-MATIC TRANSMISSION. ALL MAJOR MECHANICAL COMPONENTS OPERATE AS THEY SHOULD.THE BRAKE HORSE POWER WAS RATED AT 325 @ 4,800 RPM, O THIS CADI HAS PLENTY OF POWER.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT FIVE YEARS AGO. THE TOP MOTOR & PUMP WERE REPLACED FIVE YEARS AGO AND THE TOPS PUMP LINES REPLACED FOUR YEARS AGO. THE TOP OPERATES FLAWLESSLY. THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED FOUR YEARS AGO AND THE BRAKES WERE JUST RECENTLY REDONE.THIS CADI HAS BEEN DRIVEN VERY LITTLE SINCE THE ABOVE WORK WAS DONE.

THE 1960 CADILLAC

The 1960 model year was an impressive beginning to a new decade. During the Sixties, adillac styling became more graceful and restrained as Bill Mitchell gradually unified the design. Few new engineering advances were introduced, ut orderly design development and a conservative styling approach set Cadillac apart from other luxury makes and maintained its reputation as "The Standard of the World." To the American public, adillac remained a symbol of prestige, uccess, nd good taste.

The Cadillac Series Sixty-Two convertible was priced at $5455. This was a very expensive automobile in its day. The Series Sixty-Two models were distinguished by a narrow full-length chrome rub strip that ran from behind the front wheel to the rear bumper.

The 390 cubic inch V-8 had a cast iron block, verhead valves, ive main bearings, ydraulic valve lifters, nd a Rochester four-barrel carburetor. The bore and stroke were 4.00 x 3.875 inches, he compression ratio was 10.5:1, nd the brake horsepower was 325 @ 4800 rpm.

Cadillac's 1960 bold sweeping lines stood out as a modern masterpiece of automotive sculpture. Every luxury and convenience coddled both driver and passengers; with comfort enough for even the longest journey. Here was a car designed for comfort, ut one that offered a pleasant surprise when a quick response was needed -- 0-60 mph in just 10.3 seconds. According to contemporary road tests, as economy ratings for 1960 Cadillac's were approximately 14 miles per gallon at a steady 60 miles per hour. Cadillac engineering and design had come together in creating a sumptuous machine.

The 1960 Cadillac was designed during a period of great change within GM. Harley Earl was heavily involved with the 1959s, ut Bill Mitchell took over after Earl's retirement and was mainly responsible for the 1960 models. Under Mitchell, new freshness permeated the air -- a freshness and youthfulness that was to become the hallmark of most cars developed under his regime. Earl, itchell, ols, lowacke, nd Scheelk designed a car whose time is now. It is seen everywhere these days: TV, ovies, nd even in commercials for new Cadillac's! People can't get enough of the 1960 Cadillac's beauty, nd prices are escalating accordingly. It is such a welcome relief to see one parked amongst the little boxes-on-wheels of today. Ah, he genius of it all.

Car Life magazine selected the 1960 Cadillac as its "Best buy in the luxury field."

TO SAY THIS 1960 CADILLAC IS VERY ATTRACTIVE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! IT IS A BEAUTIFUL "SURVIVOR" THAT RUNS AND DRIVES VERY WELL!

This Cadillac is 55 years old, o some signs of age are to be expected! While it is strikingly beautiful, t is not a "RESTORED" vehicle. Everything appears to be in either amazing unrestored original "SURVIVOR" condition or refurbished. However, here are some things that need to be mentioned. The car runs and drives very well, ut sounds like it may need a muffler. The water pump has been replaced, he transmission rebuilt and the brakes were done. This Cadillac has been driven very sparingly since the above work was done. The car appears to have been repainted only once in its correct original Pompeian Red Metallic. There is some lacquer checking on the nose of the hood and in some other places. There are indications that there had been some rust that was previously repaired at the lowest part of the rear quarter panels. The exterior chrome is in excellent condition, nd there are only a few very minor scratches. The convertible top was replaced and is in good condition. The interior is mostly original and in mostly excellent unrestored condition. The original clock, ipers, indshield washer and original radio with power antenna are not working, ot surprising for a car this age, lthough the signal seek on the radio does operate. The motor for the 6-way power seat works, ut the seat does not move. I have made no attempt to repair this, ut suspect this is a very simple repair, erhaps as easy as lubrication. The original front seat leather is in very good condition, specially for a convertible, nd shows just a bit of wear with a few spots of some very minor surface cracking in the color coating. The instruments, oor panels and padded dash pad look like new. The carpet was replaced and is in excellent condition.

Note that the odometer reading above is believed to reflect this Cadi's actual total miles, owever I do not have documentation to confirm that.

This Cadillac is absolutely beautiful. It would not take much to bring this Cadillac up to the next level!
