The 1965/6 Eldorado was a large luxurious Cadillac built in this particular bodystyle for only two years (1965-66) with no primary competition that could easily carry six people and had a power top, utomatic level control suspension system and featured a large 429/340HP V8 engine. Only 2,250 models were built in 1966 and 2,125 were built in 1965! These were the final years of the rear wheel drive Cadillac and amongst the best of the breed. The 1965 redesign brought handsome new curved sided styling and a stronger new full perimeter frame replacing the old X-member affair, ith better engine mounts, font>a new four link rear suspension and the improved Turbo Hydramatic drive transmission with the result being two of Cadillac's best sales years ever! With these rare mid-sixties models becoming increasingly thinned out now, hese particular 1965-66 year models are now being appreciated by Cadillac enthusiasts more than ever before as an increasingly desirable and collectible and very rare Cadillac from two of its best years ever!
This particular example is a very rare and unique as a mostly all original survivor with its original 'Strathmore White' (color code 12) factory paint, riginal 'White' (Trim Code 452) Perforated factory leather seats with correct original black carpeting and a new and correct original 'White' (code 1) color power soft top, ts all original and beautiful real wood trim on the door panels, font>its original matching 'White' factory tonneau cover and spare wheel and jack and original trunk compartment interior with spare wheel cover etc still all intact as in 1966! The floor boards, runk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents - obviously an always garaged and cherished car since new!
The car has it's original matching # 429/340HP V8 engine with a believed to be original 38K miles as stated by its long time previous owner! The engine is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent! The car has been regularly maintained on schedule with recent service records (2012-15) showing the car to have had a newly replaced A/C compressor and manifold hose, n air conditioning service, new heater control valve, new thermostat, ew front disc brakes, rebuilt water pump, new alternator, ew rear main seal, ew power motor for the top, ll top end gaskets replaced, ew engine mounts, ew plugs & wires, ew battery, ew starter motor, ew lifters, ew air shocks and hoses! From looking at these extensive recent service records you will see that at no time was any expense spared on this particular vehicles preventive maintenance.
