Description of 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special

1987 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special
This is a very rare car as they were only produced as a limited edition in 1987 and 1988 with a five-inch stretched wheelbase from the factory. It is my understanding that only 2,000 were produced and I have never seen another one like it anywhere which made it all the more alluring to me.
Is it perfect? Of course not, but it is a very nice, well maintained example of a rare classic. This Fleetwood run and drives beautifully and is arguably the nicest riding car I have ever owned. Say what you will about the HT4100, it is a very smooth quiet engine. Of course the engine has been replaced and as you can tell by the valve covers it is the updated version that benefits from the improvements made on the 4.5 and 4.9 Cadillac engines. I was told the engine was installed in the mid-90's at approximately 60,000 miles. It has a fresh oil change and the cooling system was just flushed in November (very important for these aluminum engines). It starts right up, is quiet, and operates as it should.
The transmission shifts properly and was last serviced two years ago.
The tires are a fairly new set of American Classics with only about 1,000 miles on them. Speaking of wheels, I am amazed that the wire wheel covers are all absolutely perfect - no scrapes or dings!
The interior is really beautiful, fresh and clean. Always a nonsmoking car, there is very little wear inside. The headliner has been recently redone and the driver's arm rest has been recovered. Everything inside works as it should from the stereo and cassette player to the cruise control, heated power mirrors, dual power seats, automatic climate control, digital dash, retained accessory power, twilight sentinel, even the anti-lock brakes work. As part of the Sixty Special package it has rear seat foot rests, an overhead vanity console and real wood trim through out the passenger compartment. The long wheel base gives it an enormous amount of leg room in the rear. It was built to be a very special car for very special buyers.
The exterior is very presentable as it is but it is not showroom new after nearly 29 years. The paint is mostly original however I can tell that the right rear door was painted. I don't think there is any body filler in it so I'm not sure what the story was there. There are the usual parking lot dings surface scratches etc. but I still get compliments wherever I take it. The full vinyl roof is in remarkable condition as it is not cracked or dry and the stitching is intact. The chrome is very nice as is the stainless trim. There is no pronounced rust although I did discover a bubble above the door handle on the left rear door (pictured) as well as a chip on the edge of the right rear door that has been touched up. If you have ever owned a black car you know that they show every speck of dust and every water spot.
The only thing else I can think to mention is that there is some oil seepage from the timing cover which is also typical of this series of Cadillac engines so I have not worried about it but mention it in the interest of total honesty. Also, the power antenna and driver's window regulator have recently been replaced. The rear air suspension was replaced a few years ago as well and the system continues to hold air and keep the car level. PA state inspection is good until November.
I am only selling this car because of an impending job change and a loss of my company vehicle. Please feel free to contact me with questions. Thank you!
