Description of 1979 Cadillac Seville |
| This is a beautiful car. I bought this car only a year ago cause I fell in love with it when I saw it. How could you not. but unfortunately my financial status has changed and it must go. It has been in my heated garage since I purchased it except for a few sunday rides and some trips to the garage for updating. including; new gas tank. a new brake line. and a new battery. Its a fine example of a Cadillac Seville Elegante. the exterior was repainted by the previous owner and it shows beautifully. there are a few pits here and there but the car presents itself beautifully. I changed the power anteanna to a manual push down because the old one was broken and power motor was tired. The interior is almost perfect. the only thing that shows any wear is the cloth molding when you open the doors. its slightly faded. otherwise seats. interior panels. carpet dash. almost perfect. The air blows cold. and the heat is hot. all windows locks seats work. Original cassette am-fm stereo. I know the stereo works. I dont know about the cassette. I dont have any more cassettes left. sorry. The previous owner somewhere along the way changed it from EFI to carb and I cannot tell you why. but the job was done well and the car has no issues with it. It idles and accelerates well. Its a great car. that will be a fine addition to anyones collection. I have priced it at a reasonable reserve because it has to go. THE ELEGANTE. In 1979. the Seville Elegante introduced a new level of finish and luxury. Available in one of two different paint finishes and characterized by special stainless and cast brushed-finish moldings with special emblems. the Elegante was a handsome variation on the successful Seville theme. These cars were finished with or without the usual vinyl roof and were better looking for the lack of it. Undershoring the special treatment was a set of four wire wheels . Each of these laced beauties is capped with a Cadillac crest. The Elegante package included Sierra grain leather seating with what they now call Alcantara inserts. although that term was not yet in general use. The interior is finished in perforated Antique Grey Sierra Grain leather with Alcantara accents. Door panels were also in perforated leather. Carpeting is in a special long cut pile. in matching gray. The Elegante package added a base price of $2600 to the cost of a Seville for a grand total of nearly $18. 00 which made a Seville Elegante perhaps the most expensive American car available other than its Fleetwood Limousine companion.
