Selling my 1982 VW Caddy. I am the second owner of this truck and have had it for 15yrs. It has been taken very good care of. Truck runs and drives great. In 2012 new 1. 9L conversion from EurospecSport. com was installed. Since then I have put on less than 20k miles as it is one of three daily drivers for me. Engine is very strong with intake unavailable in the US shipped from Germany. exhaust manifold from UK and 2" exhaust. I am unsure of the top speed of the truck as I have never pushed it that hard but it can hold 90mph without issue. Injection pump is still the 1. 6 L pump but it works fine with the 1. 9 L. If larger injection pump was installed truck would just run that much stronger. Over the years I have driven this truck across the country twice. Most recently I drove 10hrs to New Orleans without the slightest issue. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere in the lower 48. Of note this truck came from factory with power steering. The VW water cooled people I know have never seen another MK1 Caddy with power steering and did not even know it existed. The front end has been converted to the quad round headlight from a 1991 Cabrio. This work was done by a body shop after the truck was involved in a collision in 2008. Truck bed has had a mat installed since probably the day it rolled off the showroom floor. Under the mat is original paint and hardly a scratch. The interior is in great shape with only two minor tears on driver seat and minor liner separation behind seats. There is not a single crack in the dash and everything is original with the exception of an added CD player mounted below glovebox and power door locks. Here is the rundown of recent work performed. the good and the bad. Recent work:Front wheel bearings replacedFront suspension and control arms replaced2012 Work completed:1. 9 L engine installed from eurospecsport. comNew clutch. rotors. brake shoes/pads. calipers. starter. injectorsThe Bad:Air conditioner hardline broken at condenserTruck runs slightly louder than typical 1. 6 L due to larger intake(really just has a kind of droning sound from intake)Tires are due to be replacedOnly reason for sale is I am working on restoring a right hand drive rabbit pickup currently and I won't need two when it is done. The truck is for sale locally so posting may be deleted upon sale. Thank you for viewing and good luck
