Description of 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood

Up for bid today we have Adrienne. my 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. I purchased Adrienne from the family of the original owner. She is absolutely resplendent in her factory issued colors of Dunbarton Green. coupled with a white Elk-grain vinyl top. Inside is pure seventies decadence with miles and miles of white leather contrasted by dark green carpeting and dash. and its all original! Just makes you want to run out and rent "Goodfellas". A dinosaur from a bygone age. she has a presence that is imposing and awe-inspiring. Barely broken in with an absolutely believable 47. 00 some-odd miles showing on the clock. she was recently rescued from outside storage conditions that almost led to her being dissected for parts and scrapped. Crazy. right? Equipped with many Cadillac options of the time. including power windows. dual power seats. power trunk release with pulldown. power antenna. am/fm signal-seeking radio with weather band. automatic a/c. auto headlight dimmer. and automatic level control to name a few. An extensive cleaning process and minor paint work has brought her back to her former glory. but alas it is time for us to part ways. Here are the details on this impressive machine:Mechanical Cadillac's top dog. the 500 cubic inch V8. she starts and runs flawlessly! One drive and you'll be convinced the miles are true. Starts after a couple of pumps. and idles smooth as silk. The loudest sound you'll hear is your heart beating. No rattles or other noises many 70's era cars emit. Not the powerhouse these motors were earlier in the 70's. but no slouch. definitely gets out of her own way and then some. Brakes stop smooth and straight and have plenty of life left. Tires are at 85% tread with no cracks or dry rot. Even the exhaust is the original welded system from the factory. Battery is brand new. and radiator was replaced by the previous owner. Belts and hoses are in excellent shape. Poor storage left superficial surface rust in many underhood areas. but its all solid with no drips or leaks anywhere. Even the original level-ride system is operational. Heat blows hot. but a/c. well. doesn't. Haven't looked into it. but summer seems far away. That said. I wouldn't hesitate to take her any distance. anywhere. anytime!BodySolid. solid. solid! Doesn't even have the all-too common front fender rust-out most 70's Northeast Caddy's suffer from. Frame and floors are perfect! Fender skirt mounts are excellent as well. Nearly all of the Dunbarton Green paint appears to be original. but as mentioned above. deplorable storage conditions led to a repaint of the hood and driver's quarter. Rear fillers succumbed to the elements and were replaced as well (I defy you to show me one of this vintage with originals!). Color is close. but not perfect. Pictures make her look a little better then she is. but wow. what a statement she makes. Comments and compliments follow us everywhere we go! No apparent accident damage. Hood hinges are still strong. and hood does not "pop up" at the back like so many do. Some remnants of her past life remain in the form of "scabbiness" (for lack of a better term) on her trunk and front fenders. I'm a true believer in leaving well enough alone. and repaired as little as possible to maintain her originality. I say enjoy her and decide next winter if you'll do more. Chrome and glass are in excellent shape. ElectricalNicely equipped. with most anything one would want from the option list. Power windows. seats. and locks all work. Power trunk and pulldown fuction. Antenna works. as does the radio. but speakers seem to need replacement. Auto dimmer works. as do all the lighting systems. Horn and wipers work as they should. Even the fiber optic light monitors indicate correctly. InteriorEntire interior is as she left the factory. and darn near perfect. White leather has no rips or tears. and only shows the most modest of wear in the drivers' cushion. Still soft and comfy. not hard and dried out like some out there. Headliner is perfect. as is the golf-course green carpet. Looks nice enough to shoot 9 holes on. Carpet on the driver's door in photo has been re glued and looks like it should. Front mats have gone missing. but rears are original carpeted Cadillac issue. Dash is gorgeous as well. nbsp;with absolutely no cracks. Steering wheel has common cracking. but still looks better than most. Equipped with working map-lights at all four corners. and those wonderful rear footrests that speak volumes to this car's sheer size. I've owned. driven. and seen an awful lot of these 70's Caddy's. and I can tell you this is a fantastic low-mile example that anyone would be proud to own. An absolutely unique. solid. fun cruiser that. while not perfect. is an amazing above-average driver quality ride. I've done my best to tell all. Please remember she is a nearly 40 year old vehicle. I will be more than happy to answer questions or provide additional pictures or information that might be helpful. I will also be available to show Adrienne in person to any interested parties. Feel free to email. call. or text (914-489-8284) with any questions or thoughts you may have. This vehicle is being sold as is. where is with absolutely no warranties expressed or implied.
