Description of 1972 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe Deville Convertable

NO RESERVE - 1972 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible 103k original miles. 500 V8. Options include hard fiberglass parade boot cover. disc brakes. telescoping and tilt steering wheel. 60/40 split power bench seat. twilight sentinel / auto dimming lights. power trunk release. factory rustproofing and passenger side mirror. All original including am/fm auto-seek stereo with working 8-track tape player. As the link below explains. the value of the '72 Eldorado convertibles is steadily increasing. The earlier 70's Eldo models are particularly desirable; the engines have higher compression and increased horsepower and the body has rear fender skirts. lots of chrome accents and bumpers that follow the trim and contours of the body; unlike the government mandated pollution controlled. lower compression V8's and "straight across" bumper style of the later 70's Eldorado models. http://www. hagerty. com/price-guide/1972-Cadillac-EldoradoMechanical: The Caddy has always been regularly maintained. everything feels just as it should; from the huge doors that close easily. the precise shift lever. the easy acceleration to the firm brake pedal. She's powerful. smooth and quiet. just a pleasure on the highway cruising along at 75. If you've had a 70's Eldorado you know how they can begin feeling "loose" and rattle-y if not properly maintained. This is true particularly for the front end. considering it's a front wheel drive vehicle with a 500 V8 sitting on top of it. The front end was entirely rebuilt about ten years ago. it is nice and tight. no wandering. Over the last few years she got a new radiator. new brakes. new alternator. new fuel pump. new 4 barrel Rochester carburetor. new starter. new engine mounts. nbsp;and new valve covers and gaskets. The a/c has not been retrofitted. it still has some R12 in the system. it works at about 50% and the cruise control actuator under the hood was replaced but will sometimes not engage. The windows all work well. no "help" necessary. as does the power top. raises and lowers with the flip of the switch. The am/fm 8-track player works and the dual power seats all work. The windshield has a small crack about 2-3 inches long above the rear view mirror. only visible up close. I bought the Caddy from the son of the original owner. as you can see in the original bill of sale from 1971 in the photo. I also have the owner's manual and other paperwork that came with the car when purchased. My mechanic told me he believes it's the original mileage considering the overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. Cosmetic: The Caddy was painted about 15 years ago. it's got a nice deep shine. no bodywork necessary anywhere. The convertible top was replaced in 2005; the edges of the convertible top are beginning to fray on the sides but no rips or open seams. The glass rear window was replaced with clear flexible plastic. could use replacement. Interior is very nice as seen in the pix. the leather seats are in great shape. no worn spots. cracks or tears. supple and comfortable. The door panels and rear panels are very nice. no cracking. peeling or discoloration and the dashboard is perfect. no cracks anywhere. The carpet is a bit faded but has no rips or bare spots. The chrome bumpers and brightwork are in great shape. no dents. scratches. pitting or fading. they shine brilliantly. The fiberglass parade boot cover snaps on solidly. it's strong enough to sit on. The fiberglass parade boot cover is an expensive option. you see them on Ebay priced anywhere from $600-$1000. The Caddy is rust-free; I will try to get some detail shots of the quarters. the door jambs. under the fender skirts and the underside. The factory rustproofing they gave these cars was very effective. there isn't a single bubble in the paint anywhere. When you look at. get into and drive this car it's clear that's she's always been treated with love and has spent her life as a "Garage Queen". She's roadworthy. all directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work. nbsp;even the cool multi-color fender indicators. Engine always starts easily. even after sitting for a month or two. Cruises nicely on the highway. holds the road perfectly. 8. 0 liter V8 moves this big girl easily up the highway with LOTS of power. The Caddy tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly. idles perfectly and the suspension is luxurious. She is almost spotless underneath; floors and trunk completely solid. body never patched. No leaks. garage floor always dry when I take her out. Overall. it drives like an American classic luxury car should. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary. cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional. reliable and have great rates. Classic Convertible Caddy which will only appreciate in value! Any questions feel free to call or email. 914-224-3230
