It in turn was replaced by the Series 62 in 1940 only to return to production in model year 1941. Apart from model years 1943-1945 It remained in production through 1951.The Fisher-bodied Series 61 used a 126 in (3,200 mm) wheelbase. It was available as a club coupe or sedan. All Cadillacs shared the same 346 in³ L-head V8 in 1939, with power at 135 hp (101 kW) and rising to 150 hp (112 kW) for 1941.MechanicalWhat we have here is a beautiful 1939 Cadillac series 61 Sedan with 74K actual miles and the title also shows actual miles. In 2000 car had 68,843 actual miles. the original Cadillac V8 that has been completely rebuilt about 4,000 miles ago. 3 speed manual transmission that was also rebuilt at the same time as the engine. The brake system is completely rebuilt, new u-joints and the tires are in good condition. All lights, wipers and gauges work correctly. Correct Cadillac sealed beam conversion. The front suspension and steering gear was also rebuilt. This Cadillac runs, drives and stops very well. Exterior This car came out of Arizona and has no rust damage. The body has been painted some years ago and still looks great, just some minor flaws nothing major. The doors close perfectly and tight. All glass is nice and intact. Both bumper are nice and straight as well as the front grill. We have a copy of the original window sticker and a large file of receipts for work done. Also includes a technical manual and misc. Cadillac literature. InteriorThe interior looks very original and complete with nice and clean floors. No rips or tears on the seats. The headliner is nice and clean as well as all door panels. All the lights, gauges and speedo work properly.
