Description of 1962 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1962 Corvette was purchased in 1965 from the original owner and carefully driven, maintained and stored by it's current owner for 50 years in August.I am helping a friend sell his sweet Corvette,I have owned many vintage cars but I am not an expert and neither is the owner, the current owner feels it's time to let someone else enjoy this beauty.I strongly recommend that you either inspect this car in person or hire someone to do so,every person has a different opinion as to condition and originality. This is what I can tell you about the car and would be glad to provide more information and pictures as requested. This car was bought from the original owner in New Jersey in 1965,the current owner lovingly cared for this car over the years, only driven in nice weather and stored inside when not driven. In 1979,with 59,900 miles on theodometerthe car went through a thorough reconditioning with the paint stripped and repainted by a talented and experienced fiberglassbody technician, including the hardtop. At that time the originalbumpers were removed and rechromed.Since that time over the years the front end has been completely rebuilt, new brake rotors and calipers, new white top,new carpet, new seats and 10,000 miles ago the original engine,a 327- 250 horsepowerwas rebuilt. When rebuild was done the engine was dynode at 325 horsepower, the block was bored, cam changed, heads ported and polished, looks original on the outside but has a lot more power. At the time the engine was rebuilt, transmission has been rebuilt, the original carburetor was rebuilt and the distributor was replaced. The original 4 speed transmission was replaced with another 1962 Corvette transmissionin the early 1970's,the rearend is original. The paint is still very nice with only a couple minor spots showing pinhead bubbles near the left headlamp and a small stress crack on top of left fender near the hood, attesting to thequality of therepaint after 35 years and still looks good.In some of the pictures you will see an aftermarket steering wheel, that has been changed with the original wheel put back in and the horn functional again, also you will see an aftermarket shifter, the original shifter comes with the car as well as the original distributor and four steel wheels with the original hubcaps.I am not sure what else to tell you, this car is a daily driver, though these days is seldom driven, usually once a week in good weather.please ask any questions you might have for a prompt reply.Call me if you wish,no texts,603-991-8537,serious callers will be put in touch with the owner.Deposit due at time of purchase of $500.00 via Paypal and the balance is due within 5 days unless previous arrangements have been made.
