Description of 1959 Chevrolet Corvette

This is a rare, 959, 90 H, fuel injected Corvette that has just undergone a complete, very nut and bolt style body-off frame restoration following the NCRS judging guideline book and completed June 2015. It was originally assembled the 2nd week of March 1959 and was just registered by me on 6/21/15 after being off the road for about 20 years! Everything was just rebuilt/ replaced or refurbished. I am not saying that this car is 100% NCRS correct but is to the best of my knowledge correct. Out of the 9670 Corvettes produced in 1959, nly 745 came with the 290 HP FI option making this a very rare car! Not many are left still having the original Fuel Injection and all the right parts! All drive train components have the correct part numbers and have the proper date coding. I have a list of everything. Yes, hite cars had the name "IVORY" written on the front frame even though it was definitely WHITE! The body has been completely stripped and has no major repairs evident. Additionally the frame has been completely sandblasted to bare metal and has no rot or patching repairs ever done to it! The frame has been painted with epoxy primer inside and out before being painted with Eastwood's chassis black finish coat. I purchased a Quanta chassis detail kit with all the correct color inspection markings and stencils with frame and driveshaft part numbers. I have the complete fuel injection system with parts including distributor with pump drive cable, ir cleaner housing with K and N filter element, oseswith special clamps and new FI only chrome distributor, oil and plug wire top cover. Everything looks to be in good condition, see pics) and has a nice ID tag on it. I have heard too many stories about problems with the original injection and todays gasoline so I opted not to put the injection assembly back on it. It has a March '59 cast iron intake manifold with a correct vintage rebuilt Carter WCFB 4 bbl carb and it runs fantasticly! Options include: 290 HP Fuel injected 283 engine, ositraction, speed borg warner transmission, ower windows, onderbar radio, un visors, olding soft top, nterior light, tone paint, eluxe heater. There are too many new parts to list so I will try and sum it all up. Completely rebuilt correct #519 283 engine, ored .045, ydraulic cam/ lifters so you wont need to be adjusting your valves every week, completely rebuilt #555 heads, ew clutch. Al Knoch red, orrect interior and black top. All new body chrome, echromed original bumpers, oor and windshield posts. John Pirkle gen, egulator, orn relay and starter. Piper rebuilt 4 speed trans., ll new stainless brake and fuel lines, he positraction differential has been checked out and had bearings replaced. The car has almost allcorrect hardware throughout, orrectoil pan, ulleys, water pump, ecored correctly dated copper radiator, ew heater core and heater valve. It has new leaf springs, ushings on all front and rear suspension, ll new gas shocks painted to look as they did in '59. Windshield assembly has been totally rebuilt by Glassworks, t has rechromed posts, tainless was polished, eals replaced, ew hardwareand a new date coded windshield glass. Almost all restoration parts came from Corvette Central. I have 4, -3 headlights in a box, had them on the car but found them to not be very bright so I put new phillips halogen lights on the car. The T-3's can be put back on for showing. This Corvette looks as good underneath as it does on top. It drives beautifully, s tight, eels solidanddoesn'thave a rough ride like the stories I have heard about C-1's. NADA high retail on this car is $112,225 and the average retail is $64,900. Hagertys High is $120,000, verage is $ 70,000. I dont think they take into consideration a body-off frame with everything rebuilt/replaced restoration.I have an original hardtop project that goes with car. It has many new parts not installed (red headliner, ack window and various trim pcs). Needs small side windows, eatherstripping, ardware, o be painted white and assembled. Serious inquires only. I encourage you to have your agent or inspector check out the car before bidding. Please, o not bid if you don't have the $$ or need permission to buy it.
