Description of 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle

Fans of the classics will find plenty to love in this 1971 Chevelle SS350. Gorgeous blue paint, handsome interior, nd factory A/C, ot to mention a solid foundation for performance, ll make this a great car for having fun on weekends.GM's A-body aged quite well during the muscle car era, nd even in 1971 it was still one of the top predators on the street. That means there's no need for subtlety, o you may as well paint it bright Marina Blue with white SS stripes like this one (a big improvement over the original Sandalwood). Fortunately, he work was done to a high standard and this was a straight car when the work started, o it was easy to get spectacular results. The gaps are decent, he stripes are laser straight, nd the two-stage urethane paint is so bright that it can probably be seen from orbit. A cowl-induction hood adds an aggressive look and the SS gear in 1971 included a blacked-out grille and a few well-placed badges around the perimeter, ust so folks knew what they were messing with. The work was done a few years ago and while it's not perfect, t is in the ideal condition for cruise nights and having fun with your car, hich is entirely the point, ight? Your buddies will love the twin tailpipes peeking out from under the bright chrome bumper and with the way this car looks, ou won't get many challengers at red lights.Black buckets flanking a center console make this Chevelle a lot more desirable than most of its bench-seat-wearing siblings in 1971. The seat covers, oor panels, nd carpets are all in good shape showing only very light wear that's totally in line with the age of the restoration. You know we love the horseshoe shifter here at Streetside Classics and you'll be surprised by how naturally it falls to hand once you start driving the car. The only possible demerit inside are the factory gauges, hich have slightly cloudy lenses, ut the important stuff is monitored by a set of new auxiliary gauges hanging under the dash, ncluding a tachometer. The factory A/C uses modern R134a refrigerant, o it's easy to service and doesn't cost a fortune and the original AM/FM radio is in the center of the dash. Pop the trunk and you'll find properly painted floors, correct mat, nd a full-sized spare tire, ust in case. The rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood cackles and snarls the way a true muscle car engine should. And while it was finished a few years ago, t's only been driven on weekends, o it's still fresh and runs superbly. An Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold handle the air and fuel, iding in plain sight under a matching open-element air cleaner with matching finned valve covers. Inside, t's pretty much rebuilt to stock specs, hich is entirely a good thing, lthough long-tube headers and an X-pipe bolster its torque production and give it one heck of a soundtrack with Flowmaster mufflers out back. The TH350 3-speed automatic shifts smoothly when you're just taking it easy, ut snaps to attention when you crack the throttle, nd with a 12-bolt out back, orrying about breakage is a thing of the past. Classic Rally wheels glitter against the bright blue paint and wear staggered 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear white-letter radials.High-profile cruisers need to deliver on their looks, nd this Chevelle nails it.
