Description of 1948 Chevrolet Other Pickups

This listing is for an early '48 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 3100 pickup. This pickup came out of a barn in southern Nebraska last year. It is all original except for the paint job. Farmer painted truck with brush at some point to preserve truck from rusting out. While there is some surface rust on places in the truck, he cab is mostly rust free. It has one small spot about 1" diameter in the lower driver cab corner that is rusted through. Other than that the cab is solid. The floors are not rusted through. There is rust on the front corners of the rear fenders and the front panel of the box is rusted. I say this is an early '48 as the gas tank is under the bed and not behind the seat. That change happened in mid year of '48. This truck is basically complete and is missing only a couple of items such as the mirrors. It has the original drive train with the correct 216 and 3 speed on the column. Odometer shows 80k miles. Truck starts and runs. It will move forward and reverse but cannot be driven. Brakes will stop it but need repair. Tires are old and need replaced but will hold air. This truck would make a great candidate for total restoration as it is mainly complete with its original drive train. There are scrapes and minor dents on truck as it was used on the farm. As you can see on the firewall, he truck was originally light blue. Have a clear Nebraska title for truck. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, ut will assist at time of pickup.
