Description of 1979 Chevrolet Malibu

1979 chevy Malibu classic 4 door sedan. Low original miles, bsolutely no rust. Good interior except headliner, t is sagging and its a very common problem with these cars. Body is very straight and could I not find any signs of repaint. It does have a small ding in theright front fender. The car is all original interior, aint and mechanical. I have the original build sheet for the car that verifies the M204 speed option and 4.4 (267 cu) V8. It also has A/C, .S., .B., M/FM radio. The a/c will need charged or converted to newer coolant but its all there and hooked up. Other than that everything works as it should. I hooked up an oil pressure gauge and it holds 30-35 lbs.at idle when warmed up and 40+ at 55-60 mph.All theglass is good. Some pictures show custom wheels but it will come with the original wheels and hubcaps on it. Also the shift knob will be replaced with the original black one. I am the third owner of the car but it was purchased new in Portland Oregon by the first owner.
Prior to me purchasing the car it had not been licensed since 1999. It drives great, lutch works great, hifts excellent and a lot of fun to drive. Could use repaint (pastel green)but still looks good going down the street. This car is very rare with the v8, speed options in a 4 door sedan. I have never seen another onelike it and doubt I ever will. Wagons, l caminos and coupes areconsidered rare with 4 speeds but the sedans wouldbe theleast numberproduced. According to the build sheet and internetit was built for the American market in California and shipped to Portland to the dealership, t is not an export car. The only thing that needs attention on the car is that it has excessive end play on rear drivers side axle. I will have that repaired by the end of auction.

To answer questions ahead of time, t has the original Saginaw wide ratio transmission in it. This was the 4 speed you could get with the Malibu. The M20 on the build sheet denotes wide ratio transmission,NOT Muncie as GM did not use Muncie 4 speedsin 1979.

I bought this car to build a sleeper but its to original and niceto screw it up. So I am selling itto find a better candidate for my purposes. It will be for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early if reserve is not met.

Will need $500 (cash or direct deposit)within 48 hours of end of auction and remainder within 5 working days in cash or direct deposit.
