Description of 1981 Chevrolet Corvette

1981 corvette. 13900 miles on odometer (but it turned over once so more like 113900miles). Carfax is clean (no collisions, o salvage title) the car is originally from California so it has NO RUST at all!!! Old paint was all stripped to bare fiberglass. All body seams were grinded down and fixed. All nicks and cracks were repaired. New paint PPG Deltron Viper GTS pearl in 2014. (Body work/paint was $5000). Fresh paint never saw rain/snow.

Here is a photo album with a lot more photos. Two folders (one with more recent photos and one with all work in progress that was done). Use COPY and PASTE method

I purchased the car in 2010. It was always California car so it has absolutely no rust at all. After it was purchased it was in my garage under the dust cover. Car was purchased with T56 swap that was done by previous owner all other modifications were done by me. It's a used Vehicle but 80% of the parts are all, ut please keep in mind that it's an 70's design so it won't drive like cars designed today. Vette is pretty stiff but handles great. It's comfortable and quiet on the highway (80mph in 6th gear is around 1900rpm) and surprisingly gets good gas millage. Steering is modern rack and pinion so no surprises there. Brakes are all new. ALL bushings are brand new polyurethane bushings. Interior looks great, odern steering wheel, ith modern bucket seats, ll electric components are working. Lights are custom (high and low beams) connected to stock wiring harness. Mirrored T-tops (driver side has a crack but doesn't leak water so I didn't bother replacing it). AC works great and car doesn't overheat even in standstill traffic in 100deg weather.

Vette was painted last year. Body shop stripped all paint, han epoxy primer than slick sand (poly primer), han sealer and PPG Deltron (base and clear). Color Viper GTS blue pearl. Body is super straight and paint looks awesome, lthough it's not perfect. Hood was replaced by LT1 hood and painted few months after (I replaced the hood to accommodate air filter) and for some reason there are few minor paint bubbles in the paint (you have to really look for them). Also on the front where bumper meets the body if you look really close you can see ghost line (like it all molded bumpers corvettes). Other than that body/paint is perfect. It's not a show car or perfect Vette (for those you have to pay big $$). Its a great weekend toy that turns a lot of heads. It well rounded car all major aspects were addresses (engine, ransmission, uspension, teering, rakes, ooling, nterior, ct ect ect), o it's ready to drive. It doesn't leak like most Vettes, rives straight, o rust. The only thing that it needs is 4.10 rear end. I have used unit in my garage that I will include with the car for free, ou will just have to put it in. I have TONS of receipts that will go with the Vette.

I have over $25.000 invested in this Corvette NOT including labor and the car itself. If you wanted to get project Vette and do it yourself it would cost you well over $30k, ave yourself $$ and lot of time and but mine.

Why I am selling the car? I don't have to. I like it A LOT but I am looking for next project (Shelby Cobra Replica) and need space in garage. Test drives are more than welcome. Please if you have ANY questions email me at sebastianek23@hotmail.com before you bid. I described the car to the best of my knowledge and I want willing bidder to be happy with his new purchase. Although I prefer local buyer, don't mind shipping the car (at new owner expense). I used DAS shippers and they were always great.

ENGINE ($5500)

It has new build 4 bolt main 355 with around 2000 miles (brand new crank, rand new pistons and forged ‘pink' rods). Block was magnafluxed, ot tanked, alanced etc. Everything except block and connecting rods is BRAND NEW. It has aftermarket $1800 heads that were ported (flow over 270cfm), 76 grind cam, .6 roller rockers. It's retrofitted FULL hydraulic roller engine (not flat tappet) that alone was almost $900. Brand new Holley 670 street avenger, ew fuel pump, ll timing components are brand new (distributor/wires/plugs). Carburetor was tuned by me with Wideband AEM sensor (I am sure a professional can tweak it better for even more HP). Wide band Sensor with gauge (inside the car), re still installed and work perfectly.

The engine was converted to serpentine belt setup (new 200amp alternator, ater pump). Basically 90% of the whole engine is brand new. It should easily do 400HP.

TRANSMISSION ($3000)

Transmission is 6 speed T56 from 1996 Camaro z28 with 31K miles. Brand new McLEOD cluth/flywheel. New master and custom new slave cylinder. Custom made transmission sub frame + Pro 5.0 shifter.

Cooling/AC ($1500)

Brand new aluminum radiator with Lincoln Mark VII OEM 3000 cfm electric fan (Fully automatic + manual override) . Brand New water pump.

A/C is custom r134a setup (All new parts). Brand new aluminum parallel condenser (with separate electric fan) with brand new Sanden 508 compressor. Brand NEW heater core. Upgraded brand new fan from C4 Corvette. Blows ICE cold in summer and HOT during winter.

Exhaust ($800)

Exhaust consists of long tube Hooker headers + 2.5"pipes to two flowmaster mufflers with H pipe (sounds awesome) + custom Stainless steel tips.

Electric system/ignition ($900)

Brand new 200amp alternator with brand new battery.

Brand new Mallory Distrubutor with MSD ignition box. All new ignition wires/plugs.

Steering and suspension ($3500)

Brand new Steeroids rack and pinion steering installed $1500

I would say that 95% of the suspension has brand new parts :

Front:

New Bilstien Sport shocks

New 550 lb springs

All new poly bushings.

New ball joints (lower/upper)

Sway bar bushings

Rear:

New Bilstien sport shocks

New composite 360lbs spring

NEW Poly trailer arm bushings

NEW Heavy duty adjustable strut rods

NEW Poly rear sway bar links

NEW Leaf spring bushings

NEW Wheel bearings

NEW Poly rear axle front mount

Brakes/Wheels/Tires: ($2500)

-New calipers all around (painted red), ith SS sleeves.

-New rotors

-steel braider lines

-Hawk HP brake pads (front and rear)

Wheels/tires (2000 miles on them) I paid $1800. 18"American racing Torq Thrust wheels with 255/40/18 Pirelli Asimetrico on the front and Nitto NT-555 275/35/18 combo.

Interior/Exterior work ($2000)

Interior looks great!! I took everything out to the bare metal (carpet, ash, eats) everything. Put A LOT of brand new heat insulation + dymanat for sound insulation+ lizard skin+ por 15 rust prevention. Car had no rust on floor pans or anywhere else (I have photos of whole project). It had brand new bucket seats. While I did while interior I totally redid the HAVAC system. Brand new heater core + upgraded HAVAC fan from C4 vette. All HAVAC vacuum lines are new. Custom Gauges with white Carbon Fiber overalls. FULL weather-stripping (doors and T-Tops) + new door latches with springs.

Sound System ALL brand new Components ($1500). Sound system will be $500 on the top of winning bid. If you don't want it I will remove all components and but I leave all wiring so you can easily install your system.

-Kenwood KDC-X794 MP3 Deck with Kenwood KFC-X1730p high end components (mounted in the kick panels, weeters mounted by the windshield and crossover mounted in glove box). Custom Elemental Design subwoofer in a custom sealed box. All powered by Alpine MRV-F450 5 channel amp in custom enclosure. All wiring is hidden and professionally done.

Misc new parts:

-Wiper motor and windshield washer pump $120

-Windshield $300

I am sure that I am forgetting a lot of new parts, ut you have the idea. I was building this car from the frame up. Everything works as it should. It has all the power you would need. Brakes/handles great. It's not some rusted Vette with old interior and lots of hidden problems. Please email me at sebastianek23@hotmail.com before you bid.
