Description of 1974 Chevrolet Corvette

I'm selling my 1974 Corvette. It is a turn-key car. it is fun. fast. reliable. and is sure to increase in value every year. The car needs nothing to enjoy and be a daily driver. It only needs paint to be amazing. It has a clean. clear title in my name. it is currently registered and insured in California. _______________________________________________________________________________The following are some extra bits of information about the vette. I truly like this car. and will miss it. Please feel free to ask me any question and I will do my best to answer as quickly as I can. There is no reserve and it will have a new owner for Christmas. ____________As mentioned the only thing it needs to be a show car is a nice paint job. The body is in very good shape and the paint is original "Corvette Orange". The original paint is in good condition in most cases - in some areas there are minor nicks or scratches. The previous owner had the yellow accent design painted in the 70s. The car has never been in any accident. and has no rust that either I or any of my mechanics have seen anywhere on or underneath the car. The car had sat for over 15 years on the driveway of a southern california estate. The bumper covers had flaked and cracked. and needed repair. Recently I had a professional body shop install new front and rear bumper covers - The rear bumper cover has the correct vertical split which simulates the original '74 separate left/right covers. It had the dealer installed chrome rear rack - which I had the body shop remove and properly fill the holes. This is the reason the primer went into the decklid. The decklid was otherwise in perfect shape. I have numerous extra photos of the condition of the vette with the original bumper covers - just let me know and i'll either post them or send them to you. Everything works on this vette except the AC compressor was removed. All necessary brackets for the compressor are included. The dash vents and vacuum lines are ready for AC when installed. The center dash gage cluster is new. and includes a modern stereo/CD/USB radio system. Its very good quality and sounds great through the new under dash speakers. There are also rear speaker wires that stub at the rear cabin for future box speakers to be installed. Included with the sale is the original center dash cluster. The clock was upgraded to quartz. and keeps excellent time. The tach works perfect. oil pressure. water temp and voltage gages reflect a properly running car. When the headlights are turned on. but the headlights have not received full vacuum the dash light goes on - and goes off as soon as the headlights are up - which is exactly how it should work. Interior lights. door open warning light. all work perfect. The car can sit for months at a time and the battery will remain fully charged. The power windows work great with the switches on the center console. The cowl open/close switch works perfect - at 3/4 full throttle the hood cowl vent opens up - from a switch at the accelerator pedal - which allows cool air to get into the engine - but also serves to alert the driver that the Rochester quadrajet secondaries are coming alive. There is nothing quite like the low moan sound of a Rochester carburateor when engaged. Of course I don't drive my cars very fast anymore. You can test the cowl switch for operation with the engine off. and the ignition switch turned on. Just step on the accelerator pedal and before you hit the floor you'll hear the cowl door open and close. This car is very fast. shifts immediatly. and rides smooth as fast as you like. The 350 L82 is a very impressive engine. The VIN number of the car is stamped on the front of the engine. Many mechanical accessories to the car have been either rebuilt or replaced - including the radiator. alternator. entire brake system. heater core. carburator. All original wiring is as it was from the factory. and in great shape. It has an updated muffler system that sounds great. but not too loud. Has new tires. new shocks. all new disc brakes at each wheel. It has a new power steering pump and all related power cylinders and regulators/valves. The power steering. radiator and transmission have no leaks and the engine doesn't seem to use any oil. To start the car when cold merely depress the pedal 4-5 times and it starts very quickly. when warm. it starts instantly. Included in the sale are a new pair of high quality chrome mirrors for both the driver and passenger doors. They should be installed once the new owner has painted the car. The original mirror currently on the driver door is in excellent shape and holds its position perfectly under all driving conditions. The interior is in very good shape - the drivers side seat was recently recovered as it had a few small tears. The passenger side seat is in great shape original. The carpeting is in very good shape - except for a few isolated areas around the drivers floor and seat. The minor tears are not very noticable - but to make the car perfect the carpet will need to be replaced. The rear cabin is in perfect shape all around. The center cubby light/switch was replaced and works great. The factory alarm system has been disabled - but could very easily be reactivated. There is a relay and regulator behind the passenger seat in the cubby that needs to be connected up. The drivers side fender switch works with the same door key. The T-tops are in great shape. and install and remove easily. The car has no rattles. drives like new. And. the corvette car cover is included in the sale. The 1974 Corvette in many respects is the last of the classic corvette musclecars. 1974 was the last year that had factory dual exhausts with no catalytic converter. It was also the last year that a corvette could be ordered with a true hi-performance oriented engine. Based on my experience. this corvette generates more attention. nbsp;and more excitement then any other car on the road - while driving and even when sitting next to a new corvette.
