Description of 1960 Chevrolet Corvette

1960 C1 Corvette Barn Find. I'm listing a beautiful and extremely original Honduras Maroon Vette. For the 1960 model, ngines and horsepower ratings did not change from previous model (1958) but interior was revised slightly with different instrument graphics and the addition of a storage bin to the passenger side. More engine options were offered. A positive reverse lockout shifter with "T" handle was standard with the 4-speed manual transmission.

Why Barn Find? An explanation to my statement is required as technically it was an "Unexpected garage find". I own a paralyzed Dachshund and usually drive from Miami to his specialist Neurosurgeon veterinarian in Gainesville-FL. After several visits, nd being somewhat close to my dog's doctor, e found out we had another mutual passion, esides the Dachshunds: Vintage cars! I've been custodian of many vintage machines in the past years and he told me he had a Vintage Corvette stored in his garage, or over three decades. I was instantly hooked and being invited to meet the car, promptly said YES.

The car: We entered the garage and there was a car, ounted over car jacks, eticulously covered by a nice car cover. Coming to the car facts, learned my Dog's doctor bought the car in 1982 right after a restoration, rove the car for two years and due to a combination of electrical problem (short), rake issue (locked wheel) and lack of time to enjoy the toy, e left the car sitting in the garage for 30 years. He was very careful in the process as the fuel and all fluids were drained from the car.

The specs: Super solid 1960 C1 Corvette. Color is Honduras Maroon (dark red metallic), -speed manual transmission and the powerful 327 engine. As far as the engine, he first owner replaced the original 283 for a dealer's over the counter brand new 327 in 1967. The previous owners does not know if it was due to failure or simple desire for extra power. What is known is that the replacement engine was bought brand new from a dealer and not a used one removed from a donor car. Odometer shows 5780 miles but real miles are unknown.

Short negotiation, ith the argument that such beautiful machine should be running, was able to buy the car. I have plenty of photos and videos from the "leaving the garage after 30 years" ceremony.

Making it mine: After personally hauled the car from Gainesville to Miami I started a series of small projects in order to make this beauty road worthy. All brake system was redone, uel system was also totally rebuilt with new fuel pump, ilters and fuel line. Cooling system was refurbished, he radiator was professionally cleaned, ressure tested as well as all the hoses. Water pump was replaced. All the electrical system was checked, ebugged and all contacts were cleaned to perfection. All electrical parts work perfectly except for the clock. The original wonderbar radio is present and also working. Exhaust system was redone and the exhaust pipes were replaced. Carburetor was disassembled, ebuilt, leaned and reassembled by specialized professional. All new belts and fluids were added according to factory specs. Heating system was redone and works perfectly. Four brand new white wall, s original, ires were installed. Many more small projects were performed to improve the car both mechanically and cosmetically but I'd be writing the whole day about it.

The Sale: I am having a blast driving and enjoying this piece of American history but unfortunately It needs to find a new home. I've been victim of a sudden garage restriction (I have two Mercedes 230SL and 190SL being restored, Karmann Guia, his Vette and two grocery getters) and also an angry wife! The Vette has to go, nd I'm looking for a new custodian with the same enthusiasm but more garage room.
